Haters gonna hate. I hate powder days at Alta. I hate getting there early and parking right next to the snow cat building. I especially hate drinking a few beers in the parking lot after skiing right to the truck. The place sucks.

I have a copy of the book. It's on my shelf in great condition. I bought it back in the 90s. It has many cool photos and descriptions of each pod. I will go get it and read it one more time before I sell it. Let me know.I also have a White Book of ski areas from back then. It shows all the old stuff from back when I was young and crazy about skiing - things were different back then, and better?

I will read it and study it. Then it shall be passed on to my teenage college boy so he can teach the other young punks the real names of all the runs that have been renamed.

Ironically this winter we were talking and he admitted that the names at Alta are all over the place. Snowcat ops are the worst. Young kids are almost as bad. Why can’t they listen and reuse the original names?

I also would peruse the White Book of skiing, as a little kid from Indiana.

Alta was captioned "A Place For Pro's".

I knew I was destined to be the best skier on the mountain. So I made my parents take me there in 1972. Just so happens, a little place called Snowbird had just opened three weeks prior.

My parents hated it.
