Dealbreaker cause most AB folk of any means have ‘2nd’ homes in the Kootenays and Okanagan, that they don’t live in >6mo a year (so they can keep their red license plate). Unless all that realestate is bought out, the rest of Canada would be getting the worst of both ends of that deal.
Newfies would probably need a special visa or green card so they can continue to work the patch. And trust me, they love bureaucratic paperwork.

I feel like the rest of Canada still does OK if they’ve got Cali and NY now. Alberta would feel much more at home in the new US of A.

Nearly half of Canadians favor mass deportation.

Pretty wild to see the sentiment change over the past couple years, especially in traditionally left leaning places like Reddit.

    That is hilarious.
Canada instantly 100x the size of its economy with CA and NY and leaves USA welfare states holding out their red hats for spare change that ain't coming.

It’s still not clear to me why Nevada moves to Canada. Is that just so we can ski Heavenly without crossing an international border?

I’m sure you said something clarifying or sarcastic in there, but I can’t decipher it.

Hey Kevo you've provided some facts and data points in response to my reply earlier that I really can't counter, so props for that.

But I just wanted to point out that /r/Canada is oddly enough very right leaning and can be punitive towards any louder left wing voices. Quote all the polls and articles you want but please understand that particular sub is a pretty toxic place.

That sub used to ban anyone who spoke out against immigration.

My hypothesis is that there has been a shift in public sentiment in Canada because things have gotten so bad in some places.

Definitely a shift, I can't argue against that.

In BC the rural folk are conservative the city folk not so much, in the recent BC election the left almost lost it, there were multiple ridings that were so close they had to do recounts by hand so it took 9 days to find out who won which is unusual in BC politics

already the cons are arguing and look really stupid over fractures in their caucus something about ( suprise) gay people

And the world over apparently they want to blame immigrants for a creaking healthcare system when, relevantly, 25% of the healthcare workers in say Canada are immigrants
