There isn't a new one created each year. We've been using the same one for a few years now. Peeps either aren't getting out much or aren't reporting on conditions out there.

Lowish yr at mammoth thus far. Maybe it'll be a huge April? Have a month plus to kill, considering getting ikon and getting a few weeks in mid April -mid May.

^^^June is staying open until April 20th(week later than normal), no idea what J1 would be like/open, but seems to suggest Mammoth might make it into May.

Barring complete collapse of the economy (looks nervously over his shoulder), they'll be open well into May, probably through Memorial Day.

Memorial day is early this year too, experts thoughts on if they will still be running lifts out of Canyon May 24-26?

This week has been fun. Yesterday one of the Comish twins and I were the first to hike 22. She crushed Viva in about a foot of pow! So fun to get your first proper pow run with your daughter. She was throwing so much spray from each turn I couldn't see I looked up the winds when we go home, They were gusting to 90mph when we got to the top of 22 and we were one of the last up 10 before it shut down. They wouldn't let us get another hike in, but we did get a great Avi 3 on the way home! So fun. Today after the morning spent lapping 1 since 2, 10, and others were ice'd, we eventually got 3rd chair on 5 which was fun. Couldn't see anything and they had the Dry Creek rope running quite a ways away from the trees and very low. Mammoth will for sure make Memorial Day, plenty of snow. Some are saying possibly early June depending on how warm it gets? Who knows on Canyon lifts. Completely tbd based on snow and forecasted crowds.

Re Canyon Lodge in May: highly unlikely - Canyon is generally shut down in mid-April.

Outside of SOP for closures of Eagle and canyon, has mammoth indicated that they’ll be closing early (ie before mid-June)?

Through Memorial Day is the current plan at this point, anything beyond is tbd based on snow and how warm it gets. They have run 17 out of Canyon sometimes when there is enough snow to ease the pressure on the Main Lodge road. that's about as good as you will get at Canyon past the official closing date, snow pending.
Today was pretty dang fun! Snow was light! Not the normal Mammoth wind effect either. Not sure why the top didn't open as they were definitely working it and it must have been controlled as they dropped the rope to let people to St. Anton and the bottom of 23 and race department was digging out B-nets on World Cup. Lotta soft snow to get rid of for the FIS SG / DH that was supposed to start tomorrow. Vis was fine up top for much of the afternoon. Snow would have been great up there. Tomorrow might be a bit more cooked from teh April sun. Got 2 laps in Star Chute which was pretty damn fun!

Is there an Eastern Sierra Conditions thread up for this season yet? Couldn't find one but wanted to make sure before starting a new one. Always get a kick out of following what cool stuff folks are up to in the spring.

I don’t think so. Should be a lot of hiking this spring. Nice seeing your turns on Bloody last Saturday!

I was out on the Mtn this week from Sunday to Thursday. Each day got slightly warmer with Thursday’s high temps in Mammoth reaching the low 60’s. It’s full on spring conditions with the melt freeze reaching all the way to the Top.

No wind buff to be found on the Top right now, mostly bumps that soften latter in the day.

Excellent skiing under ch 23 when the race courses get pulled.

Courses have been opening up around 12-1:00 pm.

Mid morning Cornice skiing well yesterday. It’s typical spring skiing conditions, start low and finish high and there’s good skiing to be had. Lower mtn late in the day has been getting very sticky.

    Ch 5

Its been sunny all week with mostly light winds and a few clouds.

Afternoon bumps on Climax were soft and fun skiing.

Finished the day with some laps in the Avies. By 2:30 Thursday the mtn had gotten soft all over and it was time to call it a day. Got on the road and headed to Vegas where the GF and I are going to Eagles at the Sphere tonite! Very excited.

Quick stop in Lone Pine for the best burritos on 395.

Did a sunset drive across DV.

The temp was a pleasant 102 deg.

ESS, or anyone out an about - do you hear at all if they are booking summer camps? Hoping to ski and bike that first week of June with my kid and keep the tradition going. We skipped last year because there was too much snow to bike and they closed to work on Broadway.

I guess I just got lucky cuz that was literally the last time I was able to logon to this piece of shit site. I had to copy & paste then quote myself just to reply to this as the simple command/task of "reply with quotes" could crash this whole platform and send it into its inevitable death spiral.

I'm out of the loop, but I'll shoot out a couple texts and see if anyone knows anything. Been skiing alot more Tahoe lately. This past week I've been skiing Alpine til noon/1:00 p.m., riding that gondi over to the SV side and doing a few KT laps skiing giant bumps on the West Face til my legs are toasted. Then ride it back to AM and call it a day.

My conversations are a week or 2 old, but it's kinda a wait and see past Memorial Day. They have a race camp scheduled for end May, beginning of June, but its purely a, "if there is snow we will hold the camp" type deal.

    Mammoth 24/25 - LET'S GET IT ON!!!

Friday skied really well as cold temps and a hard freeze Thursday night made for a great corn cycle.

Stump Alley early Friday just as it was starting to soften.

A hybrid GS/Super G course was set up top to bottom of Cornice first thing in the morning. Snow was still very firm and some guys were getting after it. Don’t know who they were, but they ripped.

Solitude with its slightly more East facing aspect was good 1st thing as much of the mtn was still firm.

The Red Bull park is back and under construction at ch 4. Some of the features look insanely huge as usual.

Made some slushy, May laps thru Hangers.

Thunderstorm were in the forecast but held off until just after the Mtn closed, then at around 2:30 it started to rain lightly.

Looking out over Mono Lake from the upper Mobile Mart parking lot.

Late afternoon T storms in the Mono basin.

    Overall Friday skied really well.
    Fun day for sure.

A couple pics from Mon & Tues.

Conditions were changing from run to run on Monday. Clouds moved in and out all day. Ch 5 on a low viz run.

When the clouds moved and you could see, skiing was good. Noon and Ralphies prime corn snow.

A cloudy ride up ch 3. There’s a fun snake run just left of the cables.

Finished the day with a fun slush lap down Stump Alley.

Went for a post ski MTB ride On Monday. First ride of the year always hurts. Sunset over Mammoth from Sherwin Creek Rd.

Cold temps Monday night=good corn cycle on Tues. Climax (above) were fun slush laps as the snow softened. Best snow w
as on Sign Line & Upper Dry Creek.

Ch 23 area is still holding plenty of snow. Entrances are still mostly clean with the exception of parts of the Paranoids.

Fun slush laps late in the day under both the Wipe Outs & Drop outs.

Corn snow has to be the easiest condition open it up and get your carve on. Prime time at noon on Stump Alley with only two folks on the run.

A fun circuit today was up
ch 3. Off the back of 3 arc turns down Saddle Bowl to World Cup to ch 23. Up 23 and ski Cornice Bowl down Saddle Bowl back to ch 3. Repeat until legs give out.

Mammoth is on the frontside of a big warm up over the next 4-5 days. Forecast is for 5 to 10 deg warmer each day with a high Friday of 72 deg and temps in the mid to high 80’s in both Bishop & Reno as well.
Get out and ski it while it’s here. Cheers!

Got on the hill early today. Fun skiing with wide open runs.

It was hero carving snow as it transitioned into corn.

Some friends were down there a few weeks ago from Boise and said Mammoth skied well. I think 4 of them skied Dunderberg one day they were there over their long weekend.

Anyone know my buddy's cousin Dan, and sounds like who is soon to be his exwife, Heidi?
