    cold weather Glove recommendations please

Cousin-in-law who visits Colorado to flyfish.......(strong intermediate, so what)....has Reynaud's phenomena which means fingers (and other parts) get extra cold/circulation decreases....his wife wants recs for flyfishing gloves for the cold....not really "cold' for most of us but even spring/fall West is extra cold for him....I have a fingerless wool pair in my fishing duffel I have not used for 35 years, but I don't fish mid winter anymore and I don't get particularly cold....Recommendations Please....ie finger/tip less?, models/brands?, flip off finger ends?, nitrile (I suspect too cold despite dry but?) ....big thanks, Chet

Look at hand warmers of some kind, I used to shuttle a fisherman who would every morning light a heater stick and put it in a case about the size of a large ciggerette lighter that would give him some heat all day

Prolly latex/nitrile gloves, with fingerless gloves over, and hand warmers stuffed on the backs of the hands somewhere.

Make sure if your friend’s wearing those wool/polly scratchy blend gloves, and randomly catches a fish, as he’s releasing it to make sure to grab it by the tail and hold onto it for about five minutes or so. This way he can be sure to remove the slime. Then when the fish swims away, he should hold his hand up to his nose and yell: “Hello ladies!”
This is the TGR way .

I shuttled all kinds of people from all over the world, Amercians are the only focus group of steelheaders who would show me pictures of them picking up and aiming the steelhead like a gun,

I'm not sure if that is the correct keepfishwet.org method ?

As Roos has pointed out before, the machine gun grip has gradually been replaced by the tail lift grip as the preferred method for social media. Must have something to do with algorithms...

I would have him use some black nitrile disposables, and if he wants more insulation give him those fingerless wool ones to put over the nitriles.

    Good idea.
Reynauds is annoying. Can’t imagine the suffering.
But yeah. Used to Windsurf in winter and nitrile or dish wash gloves have dexterity. Neoprene gloves were not dexterous.

Something on top that can hold a heat pack on the back of the hand makes sense.

I have reynauds. I hate fishing in gloves. Black nitrile under a fingerless is the most tolerable option I've found.

you can choose flip mitt gloves for this scenario, they have a combination of fingerless gloves with a fold over mitten option. With this you can uncover fingers for knot tying or line handling and quickly cover them while not actively fishing.
