    Huh. Such a classic drop at the village it makes me wonder if any thought was put into not messing with that line. Maybe it will be ok...idk from that pic.

    Nice!

    I sent that with Micah and Rickter one day, 1, 2, 3. I went last and blew up on the landing. A guy I knew was on the lift and later said, who da hell was the first guy? I said Micah. You'll probably be hearing more about him soon...he's pretty good.

    You getting one o them star valley brides in the mail?

    .

    If your guy can get whatever it is to Jackson, I'm sure we can manage it foyo. Holla.
    I might even drive thru Alpine tomorrow if you can manage the deets.

    @Jackstraw - note the position of the tower in T-immortal's pic then compare to new position.
    I'm sure it's viable but the run in was pretty perfect. Such a big launch under the couch ta boot.

    Groomers get noticeably better each day. Not killer, but fun and almost carvy.

    Truckee Joe - don't need rock skis but sharp skinnies will be the order unless something changes between now and your trip. For chargers like you, it's actually fun skiing now as it's not busy.

    Bunion and 2Funky - man, that place just has some mystique for me, Sleeping Giant. 4 miles from the East gate. there's gotta be a way to make money there. Even an rv park or camping would make money all spring summer fall.

    That Sublette video reminds me of the video “Cable to the Sky” about the old tram/ new tram installation.

    I helped splice Union Pass cable bitd. Very interesting to see how hard they are hammering on it and I always think about the splice whenever I am riding lifts since then.

    Sorry to hear about the back Kokomas. We will miss seeing you out there this year.

    We’ve been having fun

    With the warmth during the days they have not been blowing the snow guns, which is kind of nice to be able to enjoy the sunshine and not get face pelted.
    Has anyone else noticed how good the mountain laurel smells as you are riding over that area on AV?

    sweet. I am getting excited about heading out. I'll have a quiver of skis with me and the dog.
    And since I am bailing out a buddy and taking his place on this trip. It should snow the whole time I am there, just to spite my friend who couldn't come.
    I am also bringing my hockey gear and hope to find a pick up game while in town.

    I can also potentially help out. My super lives in Alpine and would probably grab them if I asked nicely.

    Definitely noticed the green leaves under AV and sweet aroma. That’s mountain laurel, huh? That came up on a ride with DJ the other day.

    Ski in jeans day- like gaper day but with 10% of the terrain open. What could go wrong.
    I fail to see why Kevo's comment on low tide conditions was so triggering? Just looking at the landscape should do that for any real skier!

    not sure if that’s really what it is called. That’s what husband said it was but he could have just been making it up

    I always thought it was ceonothus, we noticed that smell in the same spot my first season in Jackson, 2009, and it reappears in seasons that start similar to this one, skiing the strip on warm days in December with a thin snowpack

    I don’t know the name but that was first time smelling it.

    I don’t even remember [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]/[emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] being this thin, but I just came for a couple of weeks starting a few days before Christmas, I think

    Well seeing as it hasn't snowed much more than a skiff here or there, the turns at the village are good quality.
    Limited acreage obvi but smooth lines, uncrowded and carvy cold snow.

    Slalom turns to GS+ are the daily routine at the moment. Been good to turn with lindenle abit lately. The M6 mantras are nice to motor around on but the M102's were ready to drive the bus today.

    Moran, Werner, Crags, Wide Open and EDI ripping now with Bridger ganjala and Marmot firing up this Saturday.

    Next 3 days is kids ski free day. 12 and under, Free with a paying adult, which will set ya back $230 a day.
    And that's before the gotdam waffles. Gitsum.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Before I made turn #1 today, I got a blob of black lift grease on my new-to-me, mint condition, vintage Patagucci Das Parka in Mango. Which I then smeared on the front a little before I realized it was there.
    I was lit up like a firecracker mad but managed to regroup, clean it up a little and go make turns. An intensive cleaning with some Dawn Platinum seems to have removed 98% of it. Just some vague shadows here and there.
    It occurred to me later that it's only the second time in about 30 years so that's actually a pretty good record. The older lifts were notorious for blobs when it got above, say, 40*.
    But it's orange, when I've been wearing black for days and phenomenally hard to find. Stoked for the cleaning up so well tho.
    If Dawn works to clean up oil coated ducks in Alaska, it certainly should bring your Pattagucci back from such a fowl accident.
    Outstanding, and thank you for a good AM laugh.
    I got the Dawn Platinum. That has to work bettah, right? Cuz Platinum.
    I had my older electric toothbrush going, just a buzzin and a swirlin away. Worked well.
    Skiing tomorrow could have some minor challenges. Gonna be the first genuinely busy day, except jeans day which apparently was a bit of an overcrowded clusterfuck eventually.
    Kokomas, skiing anytime soon? Holla, let's go.
    Bummer dude. Make sure you work as much of that grease out as possible before you run it through the machine. Dawn is the key. Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat.
