Leather work glove recommendation?

I’m putting together a Christmas wish list for my family and I was thinking about asking for some nice leather gloves. Something for camping, splitting wood, yard work etc. I have some insulated Givr gloves so I’m looking for unlined.

Probably no more than $[emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] or so. Must be dextrous AF.

I just got a pair of mechanix straight leather gloves from Lowe’s for yard work and camping. They fit me perfectly and really like them so far. I would give those a try if you swing through a Lowe’s and then size them up.

The actual glove doesn’t matter (cheap Kinco or Wells Lamont work for me)… it’s all about the beeswax treatment afterwards.

I've never liked any of the common brand work gloves (Kinco, Mechanix, etc) they all fit way too boxy for me.

Hestra Job work gloves are legit, not to mention dexterous as fuck, and reasonably priced. I’ve got 2 pairs, one insulated and pair uninsulated. I think I paid $18 for the unlined ones and a few bucks more for the insulated ones, $22 or $23 ? I treat them twice a year with Pecards, the pair in this photo is about 2 years old.

Never liked Kincos. Have a few pairs of Trucks I like.

My favorite though are these Boss Arctik gloves that I picked up for like $25 for 2 pair at Costco. Warmer than the M1 Pro trucks and more dexterous than any Kincos I've been in. https://bossgloves.com/product/145271

Yall pay a lot for all leather work gloves. I always wear holes in the fingertips of my leather work gloves used doing outdoorsy property things. It kinda kills some of the benefits of the gloves. Others have this problem? The links that I’ve looked at in this thread show gloves that don’t seem to solve that problem.

When my backstock of Marmot work gloves finally runs dry, I'll be going with the Hestras. Kinko's, Wells, etc leather is shittay.

you can mitigate this problem with aqua seal, the thing to do is have a number of things that need repair and do them all at once

aqs will glue loose velcro/ stick to ski gloves / gortex ( on the inside) / tele boot bellows/ bike gloves and all kinds of shit

why i bet there is even a 7 page thread on use of the stuff

As a gift, Rocky Mountain Hand Shoes. When they get them back in stock. Used to be a hand trace and they would come fit to your hand a couple months after faxing or mailing in the trace. New owners and they went to S-XL but still nice and durable. Still hand made in the US. Not as bougie as the Vermont gloves but ups the gift level above “I bought cheap leather gloves on Amazon for you”. I guess if you wanted to show some effort, you could at least drive to the local feed store.

This is what I had in mind. No info on their website and no recent posts on their facebook page doesn’t seem very encouraging.

The Vermonters look nice but I’d have a hard time asking someone to pay that much unless they really are gold lined or are simply the most dexterous (as fuck).
