I suspect I will be ready for some turns on mellow terrain once the mountains open in a week or so.

We hit DH today. Once we got a boot pack in, it was easy dreamy laps. They'd had 3 feet, and another 6 inches fell while we were there.

On the way home the band dropped way down to the south. Looked like some Snow Ridge / Big Mac love.

After the crazy warm fall it's great to see some actual skiing going on. Finally gotten cold enough bob for improved snowmaking output..

So I messaged VT AOT about the chicanes not being removed on the Jeff side of the Notch Rd. This mainly impacted parking for recreational use from the north (about 40 parking spots). Here is the reply I received today:

    “Good morning,

District Maintenance had removed the chicane on the Stowe side to be able to perform winter maintenance. On the Cambridge side we were able to perform winter maintenance with the Chicane installed, therefor the initial decision was to leave it. After internal conversation and hearing from our stakeholders, AOT has made the decision to remove the Chicane. When weather allows for us to conduct this activity, district maintenance crews will be out there. Thank you for your patience and understanding. “

I love Vermont for this reason. I’m sure mine wasn’t the only message sent. Democracy dies in the shadows and VT is too small for this type of request to be ignored.

Sweet rig, cat. I’ll probably be at Bolton tomorrow, maybe Sugarbush Sunday.

I don't know Stowe that well yet, so wound up doing some low angle turn farming. But man was it fun. Did not expect to find knee deep snow today.

Sounds like some damn good sleeper early season skiing has been going down. Honestly those mid tide country club reserved run December turns are probably my favorite conditions. Wish I could have gotten after it.

Planning on Wildcat on Sunday but if someone wants to advise me to hit something better like Cannon or whereved I'd do it. Thursday/Friday overnighter later this week I think maybe do Wildcat then instead or even Stowe.
