Things you could have never imagined 40 years ago
I'll start:
The other day as I stood waiting in line for the next bud tender at A Greener Today in my hometown I marveld at the wall of cannabis before me. There were bags of buds, cannisters of joints, tankers of concentrates and candies galore.
Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined in 1984 that one day I would be shopping for cannabis like any other consumer good out of the shadows and fully legal.“When you see something that is not right, not just, not fair, you have a moral obligation to say something. To do something." Rep. John Lewis

I feel like I spent a lot of time dreaming about the existence of a weed store back then, so while I still giggle every time I walk in one, I certainly imagined it 40 years ago!

I've recently developed this strange ability to observe my surroundings-- but nostalgically place myself in the room I grew up in-- and observe it from there. Hard to describe, but I do it often.
I also get pretty overwhelmed that I'm still alive. Car accidents, avalanches, crashes.
Furthermore, I never imagined that the government would admit to UFOs and the general public would just carry on with their lives. I saw lights in the sky in 2001 with my parents and we still can't explain what we saw... just a strobing orb. Yes, mind-blowing, but what people don't often articulate is how obsessed we become with the phenomenon after a sighting.

Things you could have never imagined 40 years ago
Totally. 40 years ago it would have been a toss up between China becoming a superpower and DJT being potus as most absurd
I went to Shanghai after living in Tokyo in the late 80s and it looked like London after the blitz except nothing had been fixed. Total 3rd world sheeeit hole. I would laugh at anyone suggesting China would be successful. Derp. Apparently you can get a lot done if you squash the rights of the populace
