I have this other jacket in mind that I really like the specifications on, as well the price, but the product photos everywhere make it look slouchy and like it fits weird. I’ve passed on it for over a year while the price keeps dropping.

I was intrigued by this same jacket on Steep n Cheap at like $260, but at $180 it’s a steal for the material. Clicked on link and instantly turned off by slouch fit.

Powder skirt looks bomber too.

I bought a heavily discounted ugly ass Salomon Gore-Tex touring shell last year. It’s great. Sleeves way too long and neck zips up past my eyeballs, plus a hood so big an astronaut helmet would fit.

Christ, all the fashion victims around here. I've skied hundreds of days in shit that looked way worse (flourescent neon one-piece Nevica fart bag, anyone?). And this seems vaguely North Face Schmidt-ian to me.

Screw it, I bought one. Too good of a deal on the material to pass up. I have GoreTex Pro jackets from over 10 years ago still going very strong…never water treated and droplets still bead like when new.

Now I gotta look at for at least a decade, but the jacket looks so much better in other photos compared to the Sierra photo. *Cody makes it look better.
