The JP version of this (not common anymore) is the nationalists in Black Vans that have loud speakers on the roof and drive around shouting anti-foreigner policies during election season. Once I stood on the sidewalk, bowed, and repeated their chant back at them verbatim. They just kind of stared at me in disbelief and my wife dragged me away by the arm: "All you're going to do is start a fight you can't win. That van is full of dudes that want to kick your ass... you fucking moron."

I mean, she wasn't wrong. But eventually that extreme of the right wing has pretty much died out over here.

If I saw a swastika in the wild, I wonder if I'd have the courage to ask him for it. (to take it home and burn it.)

My grandfathers fought nazis. They also bombed my wife's grandparents. My daughter is giving a speech about her ancestry and the pursuit for peace. This topic has been around my household for a few weeks now. It's gotta be a fairly heavy topic for her. "Yeah, both your great grandparents tried to kill each other. But I bet they'd love to share a bottle of wine today, if they could."

My dad shot at Nazis. Never said if he hit any. They shot back with an 88 and he got hit. My wife's cousin was in the Nazi SS. Went MIA on the Eastern Front. Today's American neoNazi is pretty much a lone wolf.

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Burlington police are investigating an assault they say happened Friday night near Walnut and Archibald streets.

They say a witness saw a driver throw a can out their car window into the street. The witness threw the can back into the car, telling the driver not to litter.

Police say the driver then approached the witness’ car, banging on the window and smashing the driver’s side mirror.

They say the witness got out of the car to confront the man but was assaulted by him and two other men.

In my younger days,absolutely. They’d pop up now and then at hardcore shows spewing shit that deserved an ass kicking. We fucked up a few upstate nazis at a Descendents/Dag Nasty show outside some VFW/Legion Hall in Albany in between bands. Other times they’d just get stomped in the mosh pit. Those were the good old days.

These days I’m more of a shake my head and walk by. Too many guns these days.
