-Pool volleyball with a beer in one hand.
-Darts again with a beer in one hand.

Why limit the Olympics to humans. I was watching an AKC dog diving contest that was pretty cool. The only hitch might be nationality. If a Belgian malinois lives in the US which country does it compete for.

Simple: the malinois can only compete for the U.S. if it speaks American.

    Paris 2024 Summer Olympics

I was flipping through channels last night & saw the 24th Annual Roof Football Championship on ESPN2
It was two guys throwing a football onto a roof & trying to hit the gas vent.
    wtf

ESPN has really leaned into “theocho” mindset in recent years. I’m not complaining…

The three rules of human competition:
    - If it moves - we’ll race it.
    - If it can be thrown - we’ll compete on accuracy / distance.
    - and… if there’s competition going on, we’ll gamble…

    Paris 2024 Summer Olympics

I flipped away & then back to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating. Even the preview text summary was surreal to my eyes

I had to check it wasn’t theOcho

Replay on Sunday again for those interested

The bomb cop I know has a malinois that speaks German, because that's where it was trained.

I miss the 80s sometimes. Lol
I've got a fix for ya, and it won't give you lung cancer...

Classic 80's flick, lots of familiar faces. Ultimate 80's soundtrack. Even has Madonna singing in a bar! Not as raunchy, but spiritual cousin to Hot Dog in many ways.

What got me onto it was watching Janja Garnbret workout videos, and she was doing stuff on a wallboard. Reminded me of Matthew Modine climbing a peg board in Vision Quest. Hadn't seen it for decades - still a good watch.

It's on the Roku Channel, (free with commercials), if you're interested and can't find it anywhere else.

Vision Quest is the best. A bunch of guys on my college wrestling team got extra gigs on it the season before I joined.

Bill Simmons “Rewatchable” episode on VQ is a great podcast. One of the best

It’s a trip seeing young vs old Mathew Modine in his Stranger Things incarnation

Yup, bit of a shock to the system. Little hard to process, but then that's the way of it.

I checked out that episode today and it was pretty good, loaded with trivia, insights, and lots of laughs. Worth an embed.

    She's back...

Swaney, who was glorified and vilified — mostly the latter — for finishing dead last in women’s halfpipe skiing at the 2018 Winter Olympics, representing Hungary, is back! She told the Chronicle on Thursday that she is in training for the L.A. Olympics in ’28 as a weightlifter.

I always got a kick out of Jiminy Glick's children: Morgan, Mason, Matthew, and Modine.

My buddy is K-9 for the local PD. Their dogs all come from Germany or NED. Commands are in German or Dutch, at least on our force.
His dog is a massive Sheppard from NED. Scary as hell looking, but sweet if you ain't fucking around and finding out.

All you really need to know about the Malinois-

My neighbor's bomb dogs have been GSD, labs, or malinois, not particularly big ones. Agility and focus and ability to get into small spaces more important than size for that role.
