Hassan is crazy. She deserves that win for her efforts. Women’s GOAT at this point, in my book.

Fisher last night in the 5000m was amazing. Such a finish!

The Olympics may be over but that doesn’t mean we have to stop perving on athletes.

Will Hassan's training regimen--run a 5000 and 10000 at race speed-- become the training regimen of amateur marathoners everywhere? I think not.

My wife was watching artistic swimming and I caught the Chinese twins who won the duet. All I can say is--finish your peas because there are starving people in China. I can't find a picture but if anyone here saw them--which I doubt--you know what I'm talking about.

That sport has certainly gotten more athletic since the last time I saw it--before there was cable TV--and the music is a lot better; it might actually be enjoyable to watch if it weren't for the commentator who chattered constantly through the routines--not just describing what was going on but nonstop about where they grew up, how they partners got together, ad nauseum. At 3 times the volume of the music.

OTOH Tony Azevedo in water polo is by far the best commentator on the NBC team. He calls out mistakes, describes tactics, evenhandedly. I will say that, having played the sport a little, it's a lot easier to figure out what to do from up in the stands than when you're in the water with some guy's hand in your speedo.

As far as synchronized swimming, I'd probably enjoy it at Cirque de Soleil, don't see how it merits inclusion in the Olympics

Super fast time considering those steep climbs!

I’m not tuning in - but when reading your post I hope the ceremonies involve a giant Noah’s Ark with cross dressing gladiators wrestling each other.

What a finish. Clutch shooting by the French. But having been to France, I’m always happy to see them lose.

I would have benefitted from not wandering in part way. The explanation after made a lot of sense, wish I'd seen all of it. I had to pick thing #2 up from the airport.

AFAIC the only Olympic sports should be track and field, swimming, cycling, fencing and artistic gymnastics--the only sports that have been in every Olympics. Apparently the criterion for inclusion is that the sport has to have an international governing body. Which cornhole apparently does.

It's mostly a business/$ driven decision. The more sports, the more company sponsorships, the more advertising money, the more bribe money.

The US is claiming to now have video evidence--previously unavailable--that shows the appeal was filed before 60 seonds.

I have a great job for Donald Trump after November--put him in charge of the USOC and let him do to the IOC what he wanted to do to NATO. Isn't the IOC a bunch of European socialists and shithold countries?

My first Olympic memories were of Sugar Ray Leonard, the Spinks brothers, and Teófila Stevenson boxing their way to gold. Just read that there will be NO boxing at LA28! Boxing has judges. See what you’ve done? Are you happy now? Why do you hate America?!
