WTB: Dakine Builders Pack
Doing a bunch of trail building this year and I need a better way to cart around all my crap. Anyone have a Builders Pack they would want to unload?
Thanks!

I tried to order one from the local outdoor store and buddy told me Dakine doesnt market them anymore
BUT I found one on-line in Quebec SO you might also find one on line
Life is too short to be trying to strap my saw to a shitty trapper nelson, this pack should be great for carrying the saw to cut blow downLast edited by XXX-er; 06-19-2024 at 09:24 AM.

FWIF I use an older Mystery Ranch Sweet Pea for trail maintenance missions. I think the newer, comparable model is the 3 Day Assault Pack? I can carry my Stihl 250 strapped to the exterior, two fuel canisters & bar oil in the side water bottle pockets, and everything else I might need - maintenance kit, hatchet, plastic wedges first aid, PPE, snacks, layers, spare tube and flat kit, etc. - in the lid and main storage compartments. I can also carry a hydration bladder if I want. It's a solid pack, man. Looks to be just a bit smaller than the Dakine pack, but i suspect it carries weight better...
IME, there are lots of options out there to help carry a saw into the woods. I just want the pack to be comfortable and for there to be straps to latch the saw onto the exterior of my pack.

I’ve used both extensively, and find the Evoc Trail Builder pack is more refined, comfortable, and lower and more secure for chainsaw carry.

So i took my 261 for a ride to go up and clear out some blow down, first time using the builder's pack, it carries the saw pretty well which is really what i bought the pack for
I got all the way up there and found that somebody had cleared those stems but was still a good tryout
I ride that trail all the time, lot of extra energy expended to carry a saw even on a full power E-bike
On the way up I ran inot a buddy who told me they gave the builders pack to guys cutting line for mining explorationLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

There seems to be a handful of them available online. Full price though. Also seeing a couple sites that list 25L and 40L versions as "available July 2024," so maybe there are new versions coming soon.

I couldn' t get one thru my local dealer, buddy tried to order and there were none available but he could see one in Quebec so i just ordered direct myself
I can't see why Dakine would quit making them but maybe the sales figures were not there ?Lee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

I can see how they could be a niche product that doesn’t sell well enough for corporate. But for those who would benefit from them they’re a critical piece of gear.

I've been using an old MEC top loader pack that I've had since mid 90's in high school, but it's starting to fall apart. Ordered one of these and happy with it so far. Our local state park trail crew uses them too.
