Frame rec: enduro geo, high stack, medium reach

Time to face facts, I have been dealing with neck issues for a couple years and it's getting the point that my large Spire with its 485 reach is just stressing my neck too much.

Im thinking a bike that will allow me to be more upright on the descents will help me not crane my neck so far and keep the nerve pinching down. Spending three weeks with shooting pains and numb fingers after a ride sucks a lot.

I've been all over the geo charts and it's getting to the point where I can't keep anything straight so l'll ask the collective

    My frame asks:
    Enduro travel (155+)
    High stack (620+)
    Slacker than 64ish head tube
    Medium reach (460-475)
Shortish effective top tube (615 or lower)

Frames that kinda meet those: WAO Arrival, Forbidden Dread v2, ????

Thanks a ton, bummed to have missed the last 4 months of riding but hoping the rest and maybe a different geo can get me back in the saddle.

I'm sure you've probably done this, but have you experimented with stem height/length, seat position, higher rise bars?

^^^ that. More spacers under the stem (or a higher rise bar) will effectively increase your stack and shorten your reach. Seems to work for Dak.

That aside, just bumping down to a size medium Spire would tick all of your boxes. I think most medium enduro bikes more or less meet your criteria, so it really just comes down to finding one with pretty paint.

Last Gen Altitude, for sure. (With a taller bar/stem/spacers).

Agree seems like you could run some more spacers and high rise bars even tilted back a bit and help your situation lots. Maybe to the point of not needing a new bike. Those Spires are sweet IMO.

Otherwise I can't say enough good things about my Canfield Lithium. Relevant numbers are 475mm reach and 644mm stack in size large. 163mm rear travel, the suspension is universally regarded as awesome and I agree. It's steeper than your spire at 64.5 HA and the 435 stays are not everyone's bag these days.

This is quantifiably the best bike I've ever owned. I'm broken, old, and scared now, far from my strongest or sharpest on the bike, but I recently PR'd our local test piece DH. It's stable but also very nimble, corners and jumps awesome. Fun on everything, not just wide open hauling ass down hill. They're also pretty cheap and on sale right now, $1600 +your choice of shock spec, also good prices.

Thanks, I’ve got a 35mm bar and 32mm stem right now, also like 25mm of spacers under the stem so I’m maxed out. I could try a 50mm riser bar but nobody makes one in carbon and bar vibration also does a number on my hands/neck. The OneUp carbon bar helped a lot on that front.

I’ll check out the Lithium and Altitide for sure thanks!

Nomad 6 size large ticks all your boxes I believe.

Adding to the list: Banshee Titan. Very high stack, relatively short reach. And if you're just looking at frames it's not any worse value than the other options
