Alright mofo's - here's the skinny 175 cm / 16 m ; something like 126-70-99mm.
^rc 85 in Austria last week ; looking for something lil zippier. Marshal is game if we can hit a critical mass to commit.

Hmmm...
Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason
What Core Shot said.
But... if this was 5 years ago and I was still on low-angle groomers teaching my kids and needed an entertaining ski for such occasions, I'd definitely be buying an HL version of this ski.
Also, it seems everything HL releases fills a void I didn't know existed, or was waiting for something to fill. Latest example? His fucking sunglasses. I need those in the high alpine glaciers. goggle lenses without the goggle foam.
But as of now the RC85 is appealing but still taking a bit of inner-voice to convince me to buy.
My head--
"I don't really ski like that anymore."
"You would if you had the right ski."
"Are you saying the entire ski industry doesn't make the right carving ski?"
"Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying."
I'll tell you what-- if HL returns me to my nights of arcing under floodlights, and this ski gets a production run, I'll send anyone who pre-orders this 70mm r15-16 a bottle of sake directly from a local distillery here in Yamagata.
And then, that means I'll be ordering either this RC70 or an RC85 for my night lights.
(You see what I did there? I just bribed you to further push me to get back to my roots... which are MN Friday Night Floodlights.)

I’m in. Would pair well with the RC 95 IMO.

Completely fair - here's the differences:
a) most 70'sh skis are soft racers that only have one arc
b) most go 76-ish+ and are sluggish
c) most have hostage plates or rails, so a Pivot or STH is out of the question
d) rc85 stoutness in a low tide package is insurance for a season like we just had
e) offers the ability to bring HL to technical as well as freeride skier
f) fills out the HL quiver for many
g) the tail of the RC is proof of concept enough![]()
tempted
Another fuckin' cultist thread.
Just put them into one, so all of Tech Talk isn't one giant HL circle-jerk.
You know you don’t have to click on them right, right? They all need their individual threads so a person doesn’t have to sift to find info on exact skis.

Damn. Noticed a post of yours last week. Post number 666. And there’s no 666 in outer space. and now this post #666
Fack. My mind is blown. What Jedi powers do you have?
Have you considered starting a ski company?
333 might be nice.
It’s like 33-1/3 only closer to 78rpm space odyssey galactic takeoff
Hmmm 78 rpm skis? Cmon HL let’s go!!!!

The plan….. would be to press some skis, test & fine tune the stiffness. Obviously, the proto rc85 stoutness would not be ideal. My thinking & a lil more on the genesis of this ski came from the oddity of being in Europe for some technical skiing training and coaching, yet ripping about on my Labs for fun. It hit me that more & more snow pros have a set of 87-105mm Heritage Labs in the car, but have to demo / teach / coach on another brand. I also think we have the unique opportunity to ‘tune’ the ski with binding selection of choice in a manner that doesn’t happen now absent a lot of pulling hostage rails / plates and plugging / dodging holes. There may be some mofo out there that wants center mounted, tech binder on a 70mm ski & while not my jam, HL could make it happen!! I’m thinking of getting 2 sets & going Pivots on one & Strive on another or OG STH steel.
I kind of get it but what would really separate these from an eSpeed Supershape? For a ski like this I don’t think a system binding has any real downside

I would be down for a longer version of a skinny ski maybe "ultimate bump ski" or something of that ilk
