Then why even say anything?
2026.
Have some balls. If you’re gonna announce that you’re doing something, state it or shut the fuck up.

Tyrolia developing binding like CAST
Ahhh. Fuck me. Busted by Buttah.
I apologize. I do this. I drink and I post and I think it’s funny. And then I get called out.
I was doing so well. It’s been weeks. But my neighborhood bbq party got me. Then I clicked in here and found something to bitch about.
I’m sorry. It was supposed to be funny but it never is.
Sorry, madcult. I wanna see Tyrolia kill CAST. My bad.

Hopefully this pushes look to finally pull up their pants and just buyout CAST. Turn it into a cleaner, retail ready, and indemnified design.

Being independent has given us slow refinement, painfully limited production and an unnecessarily expensive product. We’d probably would have had a fully indemnified 2.0 equivalent 5+ years ago at the $500-$600 price point if look had bought out CAST a decade ago. Every shop could likely mount them too.
Likely would have pushed Amer to address many of the issues with the shift due to actual competition (CAST does not meaningfully compete against the PT or shift in any significant sense).
I’m not really sure how skiing has benefited from CAST being independent? The overall concept hasn’t changed just slowly improving in execution to something approaching a retail ready product.

Im sure Look is trying to make things happen while not infringing on CAST's copyright/patent. Let the guys in Driggs innovate and enjoy some success with their creation. My skiing has benefitted greatly from CAST being independent as Ive been able to buy the systems and spare parts to do what I need to do. I don't care about some dentist being able to buy and have a CAST system mounted in any shop that sells Pivot bindings.
