Meanwhile Akebono's death doesn't even rate a mention in the lamestream 'news'
A sad commentary on what is deemed newsworthy.

In fairness, almost no one in the world (relatively speaking) knows who the hell he is without googling, and even then probably wouldn’t care.

I wondered how a brake pad company could die.

I haven't really listened to Akebono since Achtung Baby was released.

Happened to spend the entire afternoon of the legendary Bronco freeway chase in my apartment with a comely co-worker with whom I had a brief fling. Time and attention was split between frolicking and getting high, and gawking at the TV out of the corner of the eye. That one's forever burned in.

P.S. If you can lay your hands on it this is a truly fascinating piece. I have a copy of Shark Hunt, but haven't been able to find it in it's entirety online.

Thompson's article follows Killy around the United States during his marketing tour for the Chevrolet automotive company. As he attends automotive shows, holds press conferences, and makes appearances for television (all in conjunction with fellow Chevrolet spokesman, O. J. Simpson) Thompson chronicles the newly flush world of celebrity sports endorsements.

I think it would have been more poetic if he’d been run over by a lunar rover on a soundstage

.. or he tried stepping over someone's carry-on, tripped and fell into the baggage sorter.

...run over by a guy carrying 5 pairs of skis on the airport floor express beltway because he was on the wrong side.

    ......

IMO The Juice should've been on the end of a noose rather than make it to age 76.

    Nordberg is dead

It’s strange to think back how it was almost certain that he would off himself when the bronco arrived at its destination

That OJ outlived Norm is a profound injustice. RIP Norm
