YES!!! Just read about it here: https://collider.com/alien-theatrical-rerelease/

The original Alien goes down for me as one of THE best sci-fi/horror films of all time. A true cinematic masterpiece on top of it and waaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of its time. Even watching it 45 years after its 1979 release, it holds up supremely well. As an 80s kid growing up on all the usual cheesy horrors of the time, nothing really scared me, but watching Alien as a small kid scared the absolute crap out of me and gave me nightmares for decades. Haha. Still love it tho! A true classic, so I'm stoked to see it for the millionth time at the theater if I can make it happen.

This is how you make a trailer that’s intriguing, stimulating, and contains zero spoilers:

Dang. That IS a good trailer. Getting frustrated with this limited release. They are playing it all over town, so no shortage of theaters, BUT since I'm flying solo this week with my wife out of town, I have to squeeze in an early show mid-day so I can have time to pick kids up from school and can't find a showing quite early enough. Usually I can score an 11 AM showing like I did for Dune Pt 2, but no luck for Alien. Being born after the original release, I never did get the chance to see this one on the big screen and REALLY want to. Might have to call in a favor with a babysitter this week. Haha. Tried getting my wife to go out with me this weekend on a date so we could watch it but she was not interested. Watching it once with me (like 10 years ago) was enough for her. Even though she did actually like it. Gonna have to figure this one out. Hmmm.... :/

I saw Aliens for the first time when i was in grade 6. For some reason I watched it all alone in the house with all the lights off.

Ha! Yeah, for sure. I work in film studies, so I have made it a point to introduce my son to all sorts of films from many different eras and genres. I introduced him to Alien when he was maybe in 3rd grade. Predictably, he preferred Aliens. Loved Bill Paxton. Or maybe he just thought the profanity was funny.

The original, for me, is a pretty perfect movie. And as mentioned, it holds up remarkably well. That's what happens when the cinematography is so visually stunning and embraces shadows and darks.
