    ISO: 26" kids bike

Just seeing what anyone has out there, Pinkbike doesn't have much. My oldest is too big for a 24" now, just looking for a lightish kid's hardtail for mellow to moderate singletrack, she keeps it on the ground for the most part. Coming off a Cleary Meerkat 24 which weighs a thousand pounds and trying to keep it under that weight and under Trailcraft prices. Thanks!

FWIW, I moved my kid straight from a 24" to a XS 27.5" without issue. Most other parents I know did the same. It opens up your used options quite a bit.

    LIV Obsessed, XS 27.5?
I can dumb this down and remove all fancy AXS parts for you. Provide you a rolling chassis, and you spec it out with used bits.

She's 9 and 4' 8". We tried on a couple XS 27.5s at the shop and they're just huge on her. She's too big for her current bike, but I don't want to just buy another 24" that she's going to grow out of by the end of the summer.

Been looking at that Jeffsy as well, but I honesty think she'd be better served by a lighter hardtail than a FS bike, she's pretty mellow.

We also moved from 24 straight to xs 27.5. It looked huge on him last year, but he still managed to ride it pretty well. If the 24 really isnt obscenely small, stick with it another inch or two?

Our boy was about 4'10" when he moved to xs 27.5.

First pic below was taken maybe 2 months after the second.Name: PXL_20230826_003946450.jpeg

3rd the above notion. My son went from 24 to XS 29er, and rides it well. He’s about 4’9” IIRC.

My kid is 4’10” and they recommend 5’1” for the 27.5 Jeffrey primes. I’m spending too much time on debating myself between that and the 26” version

Same here. Was hoping to make the 24 to 27.5 leap but seems way too big for her. I think I need to hop to a 26. Sister to follow so makes it a bit easier to swallow. Have a 20? Spawn Yama Jama I can hopefully sell to offset the 26 cost.

I?m planning on selling my wife?s XS 26? Santa Cruz Juliana this spring. She?s about 4?-11? and doesn?t really enjoy MTB. Figured I?d sell this and her road bike (Trek Domane) and get a more gravel oriented bike for her. I was thinking of tossing both into a local spring bike swap but if someone here wants it, I?m sure we could work something out. Not sure it?s worth shipping.

Here was where I was going to post a photo but the app seems to be acting up. If it starts working I?ll add a photo. Bike is the last version of the Juliana before Santa Cruz spun them off as a separate brand. I bought the frame/shock and used the components off my blur. Fox and XT. Upgraded a few years ago to 1x11. Mavic aluminum rims, hope rear hub, Dt Swiss front, and ground control/purgatory tires.

Where in VT are you? I am in Burlington but move eastbound toward Smuggs, Jay and Burke often. I am interested to connect locally if unwilling to ship to ZX. PM sent.

In case anyone's following along, we got lucky and ended up finding a barely used 27.5 trailcraft at a reasonable price and sent it. I had to cut an inch off the seatpost, but she's ripping on it now. Tons of confidence over her 24".
