    You rip man!

Also, I need to work on my length strength if I'm ever going to AK.

The food has been outstanding. Excellent catered dinners and killer brown bag lunches. We were joking today that the brown bags are like the best school lunch ever.

Yeah that's it. Couldn't quite ski from the top. Went up for the view then had to downclimb some rocks before switching to ski mode. A bit over 4k of climbing and all the skiing was pretty good.

Owner/head guide after dinner last night, "Everyone is really impressed with your skiing. If you get back here we'll put you in a ship with some rippers and really get you on some stuff."

Probably the highest compliment I've ever received.

edit: Holy crap, I just put it together that Dr is not just a guide for Pulseline, he's *the* guide. He gave me his name in his DM and then I completely forgot it in my excited delirium leading up to the trip.

Can't get a better compliment than that! Fucking rad trip, love seeing Valdez especially when I'm so far from home!
But Ellen kicks ass - if she had a beard it would be much more haggard. -Jer

Technically two, but really just one since our scenic flight and glacier skip day doesn't really count. But, it was the best single day I could have asked for. Our lead guide said it was his best day and best line of the season so far. I was so incredibly lucky to get put on a line like that on my first day heli skiing. I owe my guides beers for life.

Dtm you made it happen, and you were ready to crush it when the opportunity presented itself. Kudos to you, pretty sure you'll be back some day!

Looks like it was an epic time. The video of you skiing that line rocked. Ice climbing is on the bucket list. A bit of touring and sightseeing. Living life to the fullest.

I’m curious to hear about anything new you learned. Whether some element of heli skiing the wilds of Alaska or climbing a wall of ice, what new knowledge have you gained from your experiences?

At the airport. A blue hole popped open over Thompson Pass and most of the way around through Glacier View so the drive back was pretty glorious. The forecast isn't showing high pressure any time soon so that makes leaving easier. I am tired and excited to see my family and sleep in my bed.

I learned that no matter how rad you think AK heli skiing is, trust me, it's radder. If I didn't have video I might think it was all a dream. This was the perfect way to do it for my first time, but I am already scheming about ways to do it more affordably. I'll have credit for 1.3 Hobbs hours next season I am going to try hard to use.
