Really sorry for your loss. I can't even begin to guess just how torn up your life is right now. I'm sure people here will give their all to help and there are also specific support groups for the loved ones left behind.

Same here, especially after chatting with you about your Mt. Superior TR last week.

Doug,

When MD9 walked into the room and told us the news MOE and I fell silent, gut punched, as if the world had just stopped. We talked for over an hour, much of it in silence. I didn't know either of you and I can't wrap my head around the pain you must be in, but please know that the thoughts and prayers of many complete strangers were with you last night. I can only hope that you find a way through this and come out the other side a stronger person because of it. I know it made me reflect on the relationship that guides my life with a profound sense of just how fragile this all is. Aside from losing a child, I can't imagine anything more difficult than what you are going through and you will remain in my thoughts and prayers.
