    Can you ship one east?

I've been working on reversing which includes varied aqua fitness classes 3x a week and PT plus dietary changes. I was feeling relatively good mid January, right as our winter decided to actual become a real winter for once. Then I got some awful non-covid respiratory thing which laid me up. I lost ten pounds in 5 days from lack of apetite. I flirted with pneumonia, and didn't exercise for three weeks. That plus having to sleep for two weeks in an unaccustomed position to be able to stop coughing enough to sleep fucjed my back up. I'm back in the pool 3x and working the PT again but my back is taking its sweet ass time. It's sensitive to any bumps, shakes, or rattles. So xc skiing, while very high on my list of things to do next, causes some anxiety. I'll get there. Just our snow will probably be gone down at my elevation where I have some free trails.

    I was so close!

And ya, I'm on a mission. It's my pace and my terms, but I'm determined. I'm liking the pool workouts. Addicted. I just swapped out one of my classes for a harder one. The other four days aren't as structured as I'd like, but I'm working on sewing some routines together. I was knocking the dust out the heavy bag before I got sick. Hoping to work that back in. I have to watch the twisting moves, but there are so many other good things you can do to a bag. Great way to take my mind off things and get some blood pumping. As long I don't do any fancy footwork. No impact. Also found some chair yoga to try. My PT has focused a lot on breathing, getting the ribs to move correctly.

Whatever else one has going on with their back, I can guarantee you that sitting in front of a computer for 25 years doesn't help.

I went skiing yesterday with six guys, three maggots and three non-maggots.

It was Senior Citizen Day and lift tickets were Twenty Five dollars plus free coffee if you were over Sixty Five. Four of the six qualified.

Tiny little ski hill in Wisconsin with only 280 vertical feet. All six of us were smiling and giggling like teenagers as we ripped the slushy corduroy.

Wicked cool. Except for having to live in Wisconsin. i jest. I am working towards being able to go rip corduroy. I need that kind of smile. A person has to have goals.

With my back recovery Im relegated to ripping (actually not ripping) groomed blues and greens. And you know... other than the occasional crowds (which are, IMO, the most dangerous part of skiing those runs) I'm not having a terrible time.

Then again, skiing is really fun, so I shouldnt be all that surprised, right?

hey, guys- ^bumping^ this tread about aging-
a couple of pieces, maybe three >>

LittleBigLost had a(nother) heart attack last month -
I tried for a couple of weeks to post to his 'pic or two...' thread, but could not access the threads. 502 Bad gateway-

I have 'gone west' to help a friend who is going through chemotherapy -
    diagnosed with a ruptured appendix last August, colon cancer was discovered during a delayed 'appendectomy' that became a seven-hour resection in November ;
the CT report on Tuesday stated,
[ no metastatic disease in the abdomen or pelvis. ]
I am happy and hopeful for my friend ( - who remains Unhappy. )
I would be happier had the cancer not been missed on three earlier scans including a pre-operative PETscan.

I saw Harry - and Harrys island on my way across the soul of skiing - WIsconsin- last week !
Harry is doing a lot of things Right.!
I hope he is happy with the way his cabin comes together ! !!!

    anyway -
Thank you, my magg. and maggette friends !
    Thank you -

    peace, tj

Heck yeah, I was relaxing on my island when my phone beeped with a text from SkiJ. He was at the neighborhood boat ramp and had lunch for me. I hopped in my boat and cruised over to meet him. We have skied together in the past so we know each other. In addition to lunch, he gave me some minty Intuitions in my exact size. Maggot of the year right there. Too bad he was in a hurry to head west and visit his friend, next time hopefully he can stay longer.

A few months of emojihell and suddenly skiJ's beat poetry looks pretty good!? I hear some types of concussion need challenges. (Hopefully unrelated, but in this thread..)

Good luck to your friend, TJ, sorry to hear about the unhappy after--so many things to go sideways when they put you back together modified! I'm still working on a few things, but also still improving. HMU if I can ever be of help.
