2025 Elan Ripsticks - sounds exciting!

    Check this out!

I'm on the 2024 RS 96 Black Ed and the 2024 Playmaker 101, and it sounds like they have taken the best from all these and Frankenstein'd it together and made something awesome! Pretty excited to say the least! Looking forward to going back to the non-Black Ed for next year if it all works out. I've actually been on my Wingman 82's & 86's for the mast part this year - low tide and all that - and really love re-discovering the carve again, but stoked for what I'm reading and seeing about the new Rips!

Read most of that article, it does sound good.

I am on the 96 black this year and they are darn good skis.

I'm looking forward to a REAL 182cm ski length (hopefully) in the standard 96. I love my 96 BE's in the 180cm (more like 178cm), but they are a tad "planky" compared to the standard 96's, but I need the extra "oomph" the BE's provide to ski at the 180cm length. I loved the feel of the standard 96's when I had them, but in a 180cm length, I had to "ski light" - I couldn't really push them hard in a carve without being at the brink of washing out. I got 188cm BE's last season, and while the speed limit went up, I wasn't having as much fun in steeps and trees, so I went back to the 180's this year. I've only had my Playmaker 101's out once, and the conditions weren't the best for that kind of ski, but I'll be taking them to Wydaho next week, so they'll get a good workout there.

I like my 88s but man, those top sheets are super fragile.

Mine are peeling all over. I’ve seen several other pairs that look like mine.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Has anyone tried to warranty the issue?

Maybe they can improve the top sheets also in future skis?

I should probably buy another pair of 116's just in case. Awesome skis, I love them.

I can't tell you how bad I felt about selling my 116's early this season when I was in 24"+ at Targhee yesterday!!

The new RS's are similar in construction to the current Playmakers, so I think that the issue will be addressed accordingly. The current RS's are not the toughest out there, but I've seen worse. The Wingman is similarily touchy, so the RS is not at issue here - at least not to the extent of a warranty claim, but it can't hurt to try.
