RC85 and RC95:
Paradigm Breaking hard-snow skis for Enlightened Skiers
Many of you know I’ve been chasing the perfect narrow skis in my quiver for a long time. Look at the guff I’ve received in the Dynastar thread for proof!
Black then white are all I see in my infancy
Red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me
Lets me see
There is so much more
And beckons me to look through to these infinite possibilities
As below so above and beyond, I imagine
Drawn outside the lines of reason
Push the envelope, watch it bend
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind
Withering my intuition leaving opportunities behind
…
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been
Spiral out, keep going
The design brief was simple:
Build the highest performance all-mountain skis that challenge what is possible on a “narrow” ski from a surf & float perspective, but still allow for angulated, athletic skiing.
Skis that can be set on edge and leave clean arcs.
Skis that can handle high-speed WRODs all day.
And yet also drift turns, pivot in moguls, glide in powder, and surf slush.
Skis that are dampened enough to handle 50MPH on a groomer … but with enough pop, snap, and rebound to fly edge to edge in in high edge angle carves.
Skis that are stiff enough to support a healthy diet of back squats and ribeye steaks… but supple enough to not be an “ass-rapey plank” (Credit to Norseman on that term).
Skis that can roll a SG turn… but comfortably bend in to an SL arc with the right tip pressure.
We are excited to introduce the RC line to the maggot collective:
Technical skis that pull in the right elements of the FL and FR line.

Summary:
A daily driver for western mountains on the lee side of the ridge, where a big storm is 6” not 16”. A surfy shape that allows blended high edge angle carves along side drifted slarves as needed. If you ski at Mission Ridge, Panorama, Schweitzer, Discovery Basin, or Big Sky - this is your ski.

RC85

Summary:
A technical ski for the non-nerds in the world. A ski you can grab when it hasn’t snowed in a long while and you want to feel high-g turns on hard snow, but also be able to dip off-piste and sniff out chalk, or chase bumps in a proto corn cycle. Dare I even say these will be one of the best < 90mm waist powder skis on the market?
East coast DD. West coast high pressure for a month but you’re not ready to submit to pressures of Nordic Skiing or Ice Fishing.
Most 85mm skis are either a detuned/neutered version of the wider ski in its given line up for rental use, or an over the top wannabe race ski (complete with race graphics and a system binding.) This style of ski tends to be paired with an extreme amount of camber, and a very hooky sidecut (< 17m) paired with extreme torsional stiffness that makes them very one dimensional beyond making the turn the ski wants.
I’ve owned a lot of those wide technical skis, and they are fun in a narrow subset of conditions but I never feel like I can enjoy the entire mountain… and certainly can’t let the skis run how I want.
