I always get my Mammoth weather from Howard and the snowman. He was always way better than NWS.

Drove across Death Valley today after a Vegas weekend.
93 deg at Furnace Creek.
Drove into Mammoth a couple hours later and it was starting to snow.
Only in California.

It is amazing how geographic zones can change.
When I was living in Tahoe and driving to and from Vegas I always used the 95, which is a pretty tripping drive.

Who skis at mammoth? No major cities within 4 hours and not close to a big airport and has to compete with Tahoe resorts. Doesn’t seem like there’s enough population to keep a resort that big going, but doesn’t seem to be an issue. Who is there?

Nov 10, 2022 Getting ready to drop into P2.
Nov 10, 2022. Skied the wind ridge in between P2 & P3.. Didn’t hit a thing.
Nov 10, 2022. Finished the day hiking out to ch 12 alone. One of the best early season pow days I’ve ever had. Soon??
