Making list of ski areas not in ski town or near major metro

List of resorts that aren't in/near ski towns or near MAJOR metro areas (SLC/Reno/Denver/LA/Seattle).

No order from me, just trying to get a list of places.

    1. Powderhorn, CO
    2. Schweitzer Mtn, ID
    3. Terry Peak, SD

Trying to think of places that are not in a major city, near decent skiing and where it's a semi-normal life for most people (meaning not a ski town / tourist area).

I'm sure this is most of the NE ski resorts, but not sure.

    EDIT:

Most all of the Montana areas would qualify - same for Idaho ski area north of Boise

Depending on if you disqualify ski towns for Whitefish and Bozeman (high cost of living)

There are a few relatively small resorts in BC and they are all good.
Silverstar, Whitewater, and Apex to name a few.

Kicking Horse and lake louise are both bigger mountains that aren't really in ski towns.

Brundage, ID. McCall is a resort town, and sorta a ski town. Neighboring New Meadows on the other hand is neither.

PowMow is near a metro area. Not sure that qualifies.

CB is definitely a ski town. Not sure if I'd call Salida one though.

I know Powder Mt. has been discovered but still the most goes to Alta, Bird, PC, DV, etc. near Salt Lake and skips Pow Mow - definitely better than PC or Canyon in my book.
