    Bwah!

Then the grandkids will turn the page and see 2024 saves leader Emmanuel Clase and he'll say, "damnit, now that guy had a good cutter."

Wow, I've read the story before but it's still cool to see again. Hero for sure.

Again, baseball is a special game.

    Damn, Big Jelly.

In today’s episode of José Ramírez is so damned under appreciated, only he and Ohtani have 34 or more HR and 34 or more SB in all of baseball this season.

Ohtani became the 6th player ever to join the 40-40 club this year and Josey only needs 2 more bags and 6 more round trippers to join him.

bobby witt jr is amazing, lots of pretty decent evenly matched teams this year with the royals, brew crew, orioles, fathers all looking good.

How much are the White Sox mailing it in?

Yesterday, in the final game of the Guards sweep of the Sox, Cleveland’s Lane Thomas had 4 RBI on 2 balls that didn’t leave the infield.

the sox can win the season series if the yanks don’t take 3/4, which would be really embarrassing to the 2024 WS champs.

leaving aside the DOdgers and the Phillies which have been better teams all year and especially as of late. Give me a rational analysis of how the Yankees get out of the AL against the likes of KC or Cleveland, let alone the MIGHTY Orioles they haven't been able to shake all year

They could easily get blown out in the first round because they’re not a great team right now.

    BUT

1 For a few months they were the best team in baseball.

2 their run differential is tied for best in baseball with the brewers and phillies (and 12 above the dodgers)

3 they have the highest winning percentage and best record of any team against over 500 clubs

    1. Yanks 49-34
    2. Dodgers 47-38
    3. Brewers 45-35

4 They have first ballot hall of fame talent (who knows what happens down the road) in Judge, Soto, and Cole.

5 They swept the phillies and have winning records against cleveland, kc, etc.

6 It’s baseball. Weird shit happens. How did the Giants win 3 in 5 years or that garbage Cardinals club?

I’m not going to fold on them while they’re 2 games in front of the Orioles and just got 2 dominant pitchers back, Wells is hitting the gas, Jazz injected life into the lineup at 3b and the Martian has finally landed.

They just took 2 of 3 from KC, and swept the Guardos. Schmidt is back and Gil is looking strong. Cole is back to form. Strong , deep pen, especially if Ian Hamilton gets back. Then there’s Soto, Judge and Stanton hitting 2-4. Torres has started to hit, Austin Wells is solid behind the plate and will be close to 20 hr. Chisholm is solid in the field and has over 20 hrs.

    Any other questions?

Kahnle, Hamilton, Weaver, Hill….any other dumb questions?

And BTW, last night relief staff one hit the Sux for 5 innings, with Holmes closing…6 pitches, six strikes.

they’ve been good lately but it doesn’t erase the memory of 6-8 in extra innings and bad in 1 run games yet.
