He goes in the Hall wearing a C on his hat no doubt. Now, I wonder if we can get CC to do the same.

"From 2014-18, Kluber was arguably the best pitcher in baseball, posting a 2.85 ERA (151 ERA+) while averaging 218 innings and 246 strikeouts per season. He ranked second only to Max Scherzer in innings and WAR those five seasons. Kluber was named AL Cy Young winner in 2014 and 2017, and he also finished third in the voting in 2015 and 2018.

Kluber helped Cleveland reached the World Series in 2016 -- he made three starts in the World Series, two on short rest, including Game 7 -- and he had an 18-strikeout game on May 13, 2015. That is still the most strikeouts by an AL pitcher since Roger Clemens had an 18-strikeout game in 1998. Kluber also threw a no-hitter with the Yankees in 2021.

Although his resume is short of Hall of Fame standards, Kluber certainly stands out as one of the best pitchers of his generation. He will appear on the Hall of Fame ballot in five years."

Maybe I've got rose colored glasses on but in my mind 2x Cy Young, 3x All Star and one of the best pitchers of his era certainly garners a bit of HoF attention. Maybe I'm way off and he'll be in Benny's Hall of Very Good and Steroid Users and Bar and Grill across the street.

rose colored glasses and dunked in kool aid.

The list of people that should go in before him is pretty long.

    Cone, Gooden, Hershiser, Johan, Pettite…

Off the top of my head.

I know wins aren’t the best stat but there are relievers that probably have more than Kluber.

It’s just not enough of a career imo

but hey, we climbed the mountain top without him.

also might not be a bad time to sell him high. his rate stats and pitch data took a major downturn last season.

Just had a look at the MLB TV Blackout schedule. Lot of games unavailable on the package because they are on on Apple, ESPN, 2 and Peacock.

    MLB 2024 Thread

Kluber had a helluva 5 year run, but no way he makes the Hall. At least not from the writers. The old school guys will roast him on his very pedestrian counting stats, and the new school guys will kill him on his 34 career WAR. Even Harold Baines would turn up his nose at a Kluber plaque.

I too wish my team cared more about their billionaire owners profit margin, and trying to find a way to squeeze out 89 wins each year. But alas, I’ll have to make do with a team whose primary focus is winning.

Fun stat, the Guardians owners are worth $5.5 billion. Richer than the owners of the Yankees, Giants, Phillies, Nationals, Cubs, Red Sox, Astros, and basically every other owner not named Uncle Stevie. Thank God he does it “the right way” though and pockets those luxury tax payments.

Fanatics is making the on-field uniforms for MLB this year and they look horrible. Players are already complaining.

Time honored tradition. Although this guy does put it into focus how good we've got it despite how fucking cheap the Dolans are in the midst of my favorite retelling of Ten Cent Beer Night:

Are you sure? I thought it was Nike that made the uniforms this year. At least that’s who Dodgers Twitter is bitching about.

Nike this year licensed their logo to fanatics to do the actual uniform production apparently. So they are “Nike” in a sense and probably also complicit in what we bullshit this is.

I guess that makes more sense considering everybody hates them. Nike should probably care about their brand, but I can’t imagine fanatics gives a shit.
