Another thing is these stupid clown bases and the ghost runner. Rickey could probably come out of retirement and swipe at least 40.

Probably the greatest individual game ever (id argue first) belongs to another lefty dodger- Shawn green. Who also had one of the top 5 prettiest swings of all time.

    6-for-6 with a modern record-tying six runs scored, a record-tying four homers, a record-tying five extra-base hits, seven RBIs and a record-setting 19 total bases.

But yeah, Shohei is breaking the game. Haven't seen someone do that since i grew up watching Barry Bonds in his prime every night (who is the GOAT and ill fight you over that).

I was just looking at Ohtani’s stats and he’s an amazing 51/55 in steals. That’s way better than Witt, who I thought was one of the fastest dudes around. Is he just great at getting leads, or really fast? I thought he was a pretty big dude, stealing at a 92% clip is really good.

Catchers are going to have to level up, the thrown out percentage has gone from 38-21 or something over the last couple of years.

    Exactly!
When Bonds went 40-40 in 1996, he also played more than 150 games in Left Field, winning the Gold Glove!
We can only guess what he might've accomplished this or any other year if he never took the field and had fresh legs all season long.

He’s surprisingly fast for his size, but he gets fantastic jumps and perfect slides. He’s really just a pleasure to watch.

Nothing would be better for the game than a Yankees Dodgers World Series. The series would have everything: huge fanbases, history, the sports biggest stars, teams that others love to hate. It’d be glorious.

Sadly, I don’t see it happening. The Dodgers rotation is just too decimated, and the pen has been abused by all year. Happy to be wrong though.

Why is Alex Cora still in baseball after masterminding the cheating scandal and being a dick in general while Beltran is shadow banned?

    Isn't this odd?

I'd love it if he could hit that mark. He's the motor of this club and I love that he never takes a single play off.

i’m hopeful aaron judge’s power stroke is back after the two week vacation.

even during that stretch though, no one was pitching to him in a tie game in the ninth.

btw is glasnow done? if so he beat my estimate of 120ip but not by much. What’s with that guy? Sucks he can’t put 30 starts into a season, great pitcher when he’s on the mound.

I would just like to point out that Ohtani's OPS this year is 1.023. Which is still lower than Barry Bonds' career OPS of 1.051.

this is the 20th anniversary of the season in which Bonds reached base safely 376 times. In 373 at bats. He fucking chuck-norrised the game of baseball.

And Bonds is still looking up at Ruth, Williams, Gherig and as of this year Oscar Charleston as well.

More than any other sport i can think of, baseball culture is built on cheating. spitballs, takeout slides, throwing at hitters, grounds crews sloping the lines, stealing signs, corking bats, greenies, roids, and the list goes on and on. I truly do not get the "holier than thou" attitude about the sanctity of baseball when any gray big leaguer can wax for hours with a twinkle in their eye about all the shenanigans they and their teammates got into during their ball playing/coaching years.

Also, he was a helluva hitter, helluva baserunner, and one helluva fielder (even if he wasnt quite as good as his 8 gold gloves would suggest).
