6-8 Hours in Your Town- What should I Do?

Just passing through. Gotta get back to my transpo in 6-8 hours. No car. Just got dropped off in the middle of YOUR TOWN.

What, in YOUR TOWN, would you do in that time? No budget, no hangups, no problem doing anything. How can one have PURE FUN in your town?

    Links appreciated, stories assumed. LMFG!

I'm knocking on your door RIGHT NOW, what should I do? In YOUR TOWN?

I love grabbing a small backpack and traveling the world with a water bottle, a camera, some basic layers and just finding out the answer to this question. I know I am remiss for that is what I would love to do all my life and I don't want to film it and be a youtuber.

You should probably rebuild my Rock Shox in the shed, I’ll make you some macaroni and cheese. Because there isn’t fuck-all to do right now.

MY TOWN is Boulder City, NV. It's small town outside of Las Vegas. If we were talking about lowercase my town in terms of the wider metro area, obviously things are a bit different as it's basically a 6 hours in Vegas question.

    6-8 hours in Boulder City:
    1. Rent a mountain bike from All Mountain Cyclery and ride at Bootleg Canyon.
    2. If you don't mountain bike, hike the River Mountain trail (not the river mountain loop trail). You can walk to the trailhead from the center of town, but getting an uber would maximize your time.
    3. Roll a game or two at Boulder Bowl, an old school bowling alley right in town.
    4. Get a meal at Casa Don Quixote, a Spanish restaurant and my choice for the best in town (other options include Cornish Pasty or Momo Sushi - both close to the bowling alley - or Fox Smokehouse which is a bit further away.
    5. Walk around the downtown and check out the little shops and statues that are sprinkled around.
    6. Get a drink. My favorite spot is Beer Zombies, buts that partially as it has an outdoor space so our kid can run around with friends while we drink with their parents. Other good choices are the Dillinger more of a standard pub, Milos-a wine bar, Clevelands- kind of a speakeasy in the basement of an old hotel, the Backstop - full on dive, or a bunch od other places thst you will see and might catch your fancy. If it's more of a time of day for coffee, Dam Roast House (my favorite), the Coffee Cup-old school diner, and the Boulder City Company store all have pretty decent coffee and really different vibes.

Note: Boulder City is right by Hoover Dam, and it would be a good site to visit on a short trip like this, but I don't know about public transit options to get there.

If you came into Burlington VT today, I would suggest we head out to Stowe for a 1/2 day of skiing, followed up with a quick stop for beers at the Alchemist. When we get back to town we swing into Hen of the Wood for happy hour at the bar and enjoy some oysters, duck pastrami, and beef tartare. We can walk down to the waterfront for a final beer at Foam or shoot pool at Zero Gravity Brewing.

Come in the summer and we will go out sailing and ride bikes out to the causeway before brewery hopping.

Go for hike on 9000' trail. Breakfast at Deer Valley Cafe. Massage at Align Spa. Couple of beers at No Name Saloon. If any time left and you need your boots dialed in, visit Brent at Park City Ski Boot. If no boots, smoke a bowl and drive around Park Meadows and check out Christmas lights.

    Moldovan hookers are overrated

After a couple laps, stop by Tia Sophia’s just off the plaza for carne adovada or huevos rancheros.

Then have a couple rips, hit Meow Wolf for a bit.

Then some time to soak and chill in a hot tub at Ten Thousand Waves, and maybe talk about all the cool shit you’re missing.

Now, go find your ride and hit the road.

Damn you got dropped off early... must have been an overnighter to get here.
    Breakfast at Full Circle.
Walk down to the lake and stroll along to the airport.
Get a flight for 2 hours.

Fly over Kokanee Glacier, Baldface and Retallack Terrain, Whitewater ski resort. Pick out lines you think you're going to come back and ski, but likely won't.

Beers at Backroads, and food at Thor's Pizza

You get dropped here in February at this time in the morning for 8 hours, we're going for a tour. Logging road trailheads all over.

I feel like I need to move to your town. Terrace sucks right now.

Zip code man is a well known street performer in Boulder. https://www.npr.org/templates/story/...toryId=4809365

He adds to his act by asking you about your home town, favorite restaurants, etc, and stores that info in his crazy brain to later regurgitate to some person years later who gives him the same zip code.

I'd invite you over for beverages around the grill so that I could find out if IRL you is better or worse than online you. I'm willing to bet in most cases that most IRL TRG homies are better in person.
