    New Shitkickers

    Paging Foggy and maybe Benny?

I finally pulled the trigger on some nice cowboy boots. Before you douche me like a bad case of vaginitis, at least know that I've been wearing boots most of my adult life and I'm not part of Foggy's Mountain Bro Posse nightmare (or maybe I inadvertently started it)? I don't wear them everyday, but I find them ridiculously comfortable and wear them on the reg outside of summer.

That said, I've always owned Justin's or similar cheap boots, as they were fine, generally held up well and did the job. Had a nicer pair of closeout fancy brand but nothing top shelf.

But now, sweet baby Jeebus, Daddy got some Lucchese boots and it is what I'd imagine putting my foot into a yearning Kate Beckinsale's sweet tinder box feels like. Oohhhhh mama....take me to the outer reaches of pedi pleasure while I sing God awful Turnpike Troubador songs!

Anyone else into prohibitively expensive western footwear? I'm going to peruse the Rolex thread now, then hop to the slipper thread.

I too have been in boots since I was a wee lad. Got my first pair at the age of 10 months. I have yet to dive into the world of Lucchese but I have been tempted for a long time. I was eyeing the Tecovos brand but you may have just pushed me into taking a deeper look at the luxurious side of my western roots.

I tried Tecovos via a pro code a while ago and wasn't impressed. I actually found my Justin's to be more comfortable.

Can't relate. Wear Double H work boots with the ICE sole. They do some solid shit kicking though.

No, but my wife is. Not sure if it's called Ranchcore or Farmcore aesthetic when wearing expensive boots? She is into Old Gringo. Not the tacky ones but the more classic ones they sell. When I married her she was wearing a pair.

No way I could pull off wearing a pair of any cowboy boots. Farthest I'll go into cowboy country are Carhartt vests and even that feels like I crossed a poser line. My dad is from Brooklyn and my Mom is from London. I grew up soft and with two cats in the suburbs.

Damn you now I am cruising the Lucchese offerings. Although it’s good to get a review of the Tecovos.

Let me guess, you don't have a $150k van and a $15k over under?

Foggy did a real nice write up of all the componentry required of the Mountain Bro Posse in another thread. Vans were likely mentioned. Not sure about expensive shotguns.

I thought Cowboy boots were cool as a kid in North Cacalacky until I realized they suck on ice. After busting my ass a few times, I swore off em for 30+ years through all my time in UT, CA, & CO despite all those places strong shitkicker posses.
Got a pair of goat skin Tecovas in the summer as the gala at our resort opening was Texas Chic. Have worn them for appropriate scenarios since; CT fall yard clean up, Jesse Daniel show in Brooklyn, Pier 17 American Aquarium & DBT with Old 97s show on my birthday, around a few firepots in the hood this autumn...
I like em, but will say 2 stepping on concrete for a few hours in em still fairly new put a hitch in my giddyup.

Good to have as part of the shoe quiver but likely never will be a daily driver for me.

Cowboy boots have pointy toes. I can't wear boots that have pointy toes. Makes my feet hurt just looking at them.

I gotta ask: For such dandy boots, does one wear their denim over or tucked in those bad boys?

This farm boy only ever wore gum boots around cattle, and the pants got tucked into those, Mom’s orders. But I don’t suppose those sparkly hightops see much mucking duty.

Tucked in, how the fuck else is everyone going to tell that you're wearing them?

At 6’4” I just can’t rock that much lift. The air gets too thin.

Y’all and DeSantis keep rocking that heel. Good on ya.
