Figured since several of us have now skied this season, it is time to post up the new and improved thread.... now with 30% more all for the same price.

Cheers to the new season! Hopefully we don't have to wait till spring for lines at Hero's to be reasonable.

So.. you have to get over ~10K to get decent snow now…. But the coverage is still passable

Went up Sam’s Knob earlier today. Hit some stuff on the way down but nothing too bad. Was a more than acceptable outing ….. but I might be done till next storm tops things up

Went up Highlands to PHQ. Didn’t really hit anything but you could fee bottom here and there. Plenty of soft/freshish turns to be had but they have rolled most all groomers so a lot of edge skiing.

I don't see this thing producing much, but the temps will be great for getting some snowmaking done.

We'll be out of town the week of Thanksgiving, if precedence holds, we should get great snow then

THE Aspen/Snowmass / Greater Roaring Fork Valley 23-24 Thread

I’m hearing 18th for an early opening. Hopefully it stays cold and they can get TtB.

I have heard similar, but depending on what this storm produces.

I'm going to guess maybe not quite enough with 4" on the stakes, although storms look to be lining up for the 18th and beyond. Maybe a top of Ajax opening with Gondi download starting the 18th? There's few of mid-50s days and above-freezing nights next week that don't seem conducive to holding base depth/coverage lower on the mountain

I skinned from the divide lot to the top of the knob yesterday. Up slot then down banzai ridge. Coverage was significantly worse than it was over the weekend.

NOAA has us in the 60's next week which is not great.

I am probably done until we're back on Thanksgiving Day.

In the 60s?!?!? I don’t see that and not going looking for it. Maybe denial will help.

Anyone know when Bonnie’s officially opens? Is it opening day or further into dec? I feel like I’ve seen both…

If we can't have snow we should at least have pancakes

Hopefully this storm helped a bit plus looks like some more Friday. Still expecting a WROD situation for opening day

Anybody skiing the various passes yet? I’m passing through the I-70 corridor tomorrow and would like to take the skins for a walk. Am I loco?

You might be able to get a little skin in up the Uneva side, but I wouldn't count on turns. If you are willing to hike, you could make some turns in the lower gore, or up in east vail.

No T to B and Elk Camp only on Snowmass. Rough opening day. There's quite a bit of snow 500 ft up the mountain just not enough down low.

Bailed south; Santa Fe-Sedona-Montezuma Canyon. Hopefully some skiing next week when it’s cold cold; back in the 50’s this week in Aspen is no bueno
