    Indeed it is.
I’ve been riding after work and cut up through Magic on my way out to Lowell Lake and beyond. Okay, so those swans in the pond next to the Blue Genie are those really good decoys or are they alive? Fresh paved parking area in front of the Genie, things are looking up in L-Derry.

True, Rue Ste Catherine is a mere shell of its former greatness

    You should see my driveway...
Those are decoys. Did you see a herd of Canada Geese on the opposite side of the road?

Just do what my father did in the 70s and get a couple of six packs for the drive. Kids and all.

Tons of hiking in the area. How old are the kids these days?

I’m bringing my osprey backpack for the toddler, otherwise youngest is 5 and oldest is 8. Hiking something is definitely on the list, anything right from the resort?

Sterling Pond is the obvious choice from the resort. You can then hike south along the Long Trail to the summit of Spruce Peak at Stowe and look down the valley. I prefer the Sterling Pond trail in the Notch for access but you can get there right from the resort - https://www.smuggs.com/pages/pdf/map...map_s22WEB.pdf

A quick drive through the Notch (which you should do either way) and you get to Stowe and have lots of hiking options that even your 5yo will enjoy - check out Wiessner Woods, Sterling Gorge, and Moss Glen Falls.

There’s the map I’ve been looking for, thanks!

I say hike from the resort because I can send the gf back with the younger ones if they can’t make the full trek.

This will be a good feeler for the ex to take the older 2 up mt. monadnock a week later.

^ top of Monadnock is not an easy hike. Just FYI...

Also, in Waterbury, Ben & Jerry's is the obvious option for kiddos. Kinda surprised Peruvian didn't mention that as his daughter works for (worked for?) them.

It rained for all of 17 seconds down south at Magic. Seems like the worst of it was from Middlebury (tornado in Bridport) to the MRV and north. Hoping my friends up that way are all ok. I've heard from Peruvian and Vt-f. Anybody heard from Laps/Glap?
