2nd lowest snow totals in the state, right behind hickory... there's a reason they went under.
that said, this is the most realistic proposal so far. i would go if they get 'er open.

Huh. I thought it snowed there way more. Guess it's one of the many snow blighted areas of the ADK.

It's not much more then a hill with overgrown trails. Almost all of the infrastructure has been sold off.
I'm not sure how you measure 2nd lowest snow totals in NY. I can think of at least five others who get less. But the point remains, it doesn't get too much snow. Certainly not enough to operate with zero snowmaking, which is what it has.NYSB: NYSkiBlog.com

drove by the hickory sign on northway en route to two late season pow days at gore...was wondering how they made out with the storms, of if they were even running that late. elevation, elevation, elevation.
(that's of course why plattekill 2hrs to the south often does so well with snowfall)
hope to get back to hickory one of these years!

^^ thanks and me too! lot's of midweek showers lately, but the sonar-assisted grooming squeezed out every bit of available depth to make for a great run to june 1 last year, with no downhiking even by last chair.
june 1: 9:17am
june1: 5:37pm
@byates : if you have any pull with the *spring* weather gods, ask 'em to lighten up on the precip...thanksLast edited by buckethead; 05-15-2024 at 03:30 PM.

Hickory's last day of operation was 2/24. I think opening day was the best day of the season.

East Coast Roll Call 23/24_The Guns Are Blowing
Still there? I’m wearing one of those practical but silly vests. I’m right in front of the deck at one of the picnic tables.
