Bridgetender has a generator and they were killing it. Never seen that place so crowded before. If I owned a restaurant I might consider doing the same since I’m sure this won’t be the last time.
A spot is opening up in a nanny share we’re a part of for a kid 18-36 months old. PM me if you’re interested in learning more.
They don't mess around in Nevada. Gold Ranch fire started by a burning Alfa Romeo, not by some beater like the Park fire.

The Gold Ranch Fire was still going strong on Monday around 8:30 am.
Hella smokey in Verdi and most of Reno (down to Midtown).
I went to a movie at The Summit mall and when I came out around noon, the skies were clear. Verdi was blue sky on my way home at 4:30.
I had to pee, so pulled into Cabela’s. The power was still out there.
They had 80 E backed up to Floriston and lottsa copter action.
Went to Reno yesterday (Thurs 8/14). Fire looks out, but they still have a mass of crews posted up in Boomtown. Power was back up, though.
80 E was backed up around 5;30 pm, but not as bad as it had been on Monday
Was down in Reno again today and they still have crews out, but it seems like it is snuffed good.
that’s a lot of driving to Reno

Quick, jack up you STR rates!!!
Cool, so more brawls on the public docks? Got a laugh out of that news story the other day. Several weeks ago we setup on one of them and an STR-er said we were on their dock. I said I think you should call the police immediately and report us for trespassing. Karen got quiet real quick.
Public docks brawls? Is there a video that wasn’t posted??

I posted that in the comments to the article.
Thx. Good stuff!
My takeaway from that article is that “Barbara” is the new “Karen.”
I wouldn't get medical care in Truckee if my life depended on it. Especially if my life depended on it. (Other than ortho I spose.)
good to know

Lol
Yeah, well if they'd gone down to Reno for graceries they might not have had to eat each other. But Mikey says no, so . . .
BTW, James Reed in the photo wasn't with the Donner Party at Donner Lake, having been banished for killing a teamster. He reached Sacto safely and tried to organize rescue parties. For me the most poignant story from the Donner Party is young Virginia Reed offering to stay behind with her younger brother James, who was too small to walk through the snow with their mother on one of the attempts to escape over the mountains. (Margaret and the other members came back, having been able to find a way down the west slope.)
you wanna go for a hike next couple days?
