I was driving north just at the end of the am drizzle. There was snow above 9.5-10k on the Teton side. The Indian was beauty today, eh?

Hope that rain hit the fish creek fire, yes?

anyone know anything about this guy, Stephen Jellie. Hasn't lasted long at his last two jobs. Wondering why Palmer, AK hired him as city manager.

He came in and tried to streamline an old school, tight knit community of firefighters and was promptly punted when he pissed off too many people too fast.

Heard from 2 very different sources that TGR has laid almost everyone off, and put the Wilson building up for sale. Looking for a savior (again).
The market is dominated by fat skis largely because young toughs want what they see in videos: organ donors hucking into heliski bowls. -Seth Masia

can’t blame the Jones boys for cashing out. Or burning out.

I’m surprised there’s never been any forum fundraisers. Many web sites have the sidebar for donations. You know. The thermometer on the sidebar saying here’s our goal for keeping the site alive.

This shit show has always been a sidebar of the ski movies. Never really been monetized.
And probably been the crazy uncle in the family that you hate to admit exists. But in some ways the forum is more ski stoke than the films these days.

I don’t have Todd’s cell phone. But I could get it. He’s been at the game a long time. Anyone that is tight with him should somehow convince him to peel off this not profitable box fan server poo flinging site to continue into eternity.

    RIP epic ski.com

    1995
Fuck. That was a long time ago. Thirty years of ski film fuckery is a lot.
Maybe Kai can be the savior. Not for double backflips and broken legs. But for continuing the stokefest. And by stoke I don’t mean pro athletes doing insane stunts. Thinking about the stoke of normies on here breaking bread and sharing beta.

this board really should be migrated to it's own domain separate from TGR. While it's cool that it's free to post here, it does cost money and time and I'm guessing that spend doesn't make for a lot of revenue for TGR.

Migrating to it's own domain makes it so the site is not at the whim of another company out of the control of everyone who posts here.

But that relies on them releasing it as I guess they'd own it?

Yeah. They own the site obviously.
The suit was one of many who stepped in to the trg mayhem as an investor.

The movies have been a passion for them to enjoy heli skiing and having fun.
Not sure they ever got rich. Other than memories and great skiing. Seen Todd just sitting there with a video camera. Waiting for the radio call of someone dropping 321.
And then there’s the hours in the office editing the footage and working the schedule of premiers etc.

But at some point every small business folds. It’s exhausting. And after several decades you throw in the towel or cash out. Hell I’m planning my own exit. Employees suck. Regulations and paperwork really suck.

Kai is making way more off of Instagram and YouTube and Red Bull than he ever could from a once a year ski movie.

My daughter got married last night at the top of the gondola. We all love to dump on JHMR, but they did a great job. It's a pretty sweet venue for big party!

    Congratulations!

I bet it was a beautiful evening up there...

I recently heard from a worker that some wedding parties were complaining as the hot gondy cars made for melty makeup.
