In a press conference today the White House walked back yesterdays comments made by Trump saying, the U.S. would like to see the Temporary, not Permanent, Relocation of Gazans and that President Trump has not committed to sending U.S. Troops to Gaza, and also that the United States will not pay for the rebuilding of the Gaza Strip

I bet many of those Arab and Muslim voters who voted for Trump are wondering what the hell they were thinking at this point.

For sure. And we all knew but they wouldn’t listen.

I just saw a clip from the presser with Bibi and Don. I'm not familiar with Bibi's mannerisms, but Bibi doesn't seem to react much. Like he looks at Trump, but I can't read the reaction. Anyone?

I'm reminded of our health officials at Trump's bleach and UV presser. They did not hide their reaction to Trump's batshit speech. What's Bibi thinking here?

He was smirking when Trump was describing Gaza as a hellscape. Ummm, yeah Don. All because of that guy next to you.

War is an awful thing. Despite the devastation, Hamas claims to have won a very great victory. Jong even mocked Israel for the fact Hamas is still standing. Genocidal Palestinian terrorist groups still repudiate a Palestinian state alongside Israel. Their primary aim remains destruction of the Jewish state so they can replace it with one of their own. Ceasefire or not, the war isn't over because it cannot be over until the terrorists who started the war realize they've lost.

It will take at least five years, maybe a decade, to rebuild Gaza. It all has to be dug up due to the tunnel systems anywhere and everywhere. Hamas rockets, unexploded ordinance, booby traps, unsafe structures all need to be removed. Trump suggested Gazans could go to Egypt or Jordan. If not there, then where? What's the alternative? Leave Hamas in charge of rebuilding Gaza so that the same thing happens again and again? Where should Gazans go so that Gaza can be rebuilt?

The only way rebuilding works is if a majority of Palestinian refugees are given temporary or permanent residency in another country. The only way temporary residency works is if Palestinian society changes its political goals against Jews and are willing to live alongside them; if Palestinian society is then capable of preventing terrorists attacks against Israel; and then Israel would have to be confident enough in a stable Palestinian society to tamp down on its own right-wing extremists.

It's not simple to began with, and it's made harder by the politics associated with the anti-Israel resistance. Oct 7 was a disastrous strategy for Palestinians and yet their supporters keep doubling down on bad policies and strategies.

Gazans should be given a free choice. Letting Palestinians choose to go elsewhere is a mercy if the alternative is forcing them to be human shields for a fifth column warring against another state. If people were less concerned about the resistance and more concerned about Palestinian well being then they would want Palestinians to have that choice. It is not going to happen anyway because Egypt and Jordan will never go for it. And anywhere, no matter where, is framed as ethnic cleansing thus ensuring the war and all the suffering will continue after the current ceasefire ends.

Historically, Arab nations that let in Palestineans fared quite badly for the experience (Palestineans committed terror and attempted coups against host countries, and launched attacks from the host country) and the Palestineans were treated much worse by their host nation than by the Israelis. And thus the answer is nobody wants to let the Palestineans in, even temporarily.

The Palestinean who were convicted terrorsts but in exchange for hostages were released to 3rd party countries are facing that issue right now. They aren't allowed into Gaza and no country will take them. I think Egypt has several locked up ina hotel.

I say we just switch it up. The Israelis can go to Gaza and Lebanon while the gazans go to Israel. Enough of this horseshit already. What a bunch of inside-the-box assholes, on both sides.

Israel didn't start the war and didn't lose the war.

Hamas deliberately provoked Israels reaction without making any provision for Palestinian safety. Palestinians hate Hamas and need help.

Israel considers Trumps words a green light for ethnic cleansing. ‘Voluntarily’, but with Israeli military involvement: Israel backs Trump plan and orders military to prepare for Palestinians toleave Gaza https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2025/02/06/m...-plan-intl-hnk

How is that going to work? Like the Bataan Death March? Sell them as slaves to various Gulf sheiks?
