It's That Time of Year Again - Who Can't Ski? But Should...

Hey Maggots.

A huge thank you for everyone that participated in this years Group Buy. For those of you who did purchase a pass, because you ski in north Tahoe or the Eastern Sierra, or just want five or seven days at few select destination, but did not join - please consider next year. Every purchases associated with the group helps us help others.

This year we have two basic passes to award out. We ended up very close to a third pass, but were short by just a few pass purchases. Depending on how it all shakes out, we may have an additional four day pass, to be determined. So next year, we are looking for a few more of you to join up and help us earn more.

The rules are pretty simple. Passes go to contributing maggots who participate on this board. The ideal candidate is someone who may not otherwise be able to is this coming winter and would be able to utilize the available pass. I'm looking for upstanding members of this board who have come across harder than usual times. Lost a job, lost a home, lost a family member? Rough divorce. 4 kids in college all at the same time?

We do not need to hear their stories (unless they wish them to be heard). You can nominate a fellow board member. You can nominate yourself.

The first pass is already distributed to Tgapp. Tgapp has hooked endless numbers of us up with freshly roasted beans. I know I was happily caffeinated and enjoying amazing roasts this last year in Singapore thanks to Tgapp. The pass is not for him, but his Little Brother. Tgapp not only hooks up this community, but hooks up his irl community and as a Big Brother gets his dude out on the slopes and has introduced him to the joys of schussing.

So, we have to determine the receiver of the second pass.

I'm going to throw Harry's name out there. He actually tried to buy a pass at the last minute of the group buy but had issues with his payment going through and the clock kept ticking. He is coming back from an injury and was on the fence about buying. I get the sense he has hooked up a number of you over the years with your visits to Big Sky - from guiding to couch surfing. And I think he has a private island, so that is cool.

I'd love to hear other name. Once they start coming in, I'll check in with the maggot to see if they (1) could use said pass and (2) wish to be considered.

I need to have these names in to my overlords by Oct 22nd.

You guys are so kind to me. I explained this all to my volunteer grom and his grandma yesterday, he's stoked to meet with (and ski with) as many of you as possible. Need to find him a change for a nickel sticker so you can find him on the mountain. Thank you all so much

Despite being a total slacker and high for most of my adult life, I started buying Montana real estate in the early 80’s. 40 years later I was smart enough to engage the real estate services of Whiteroom Guardian. So, to confirm, we have either one full pass, or one base base and one 4 day pass. The 4 day is great for someone who can use that many days (say they live in Atlanta, but might want to go west and go big for a week).

I'm hoping to wrap this up in about a week's time (I like to beat deadlines) and hopefully find someone on this board who is deserving and can use the pass.

If I can not, I will likely sell off the Base Pass and either donate the accrued funds to a maggot in need, or to Achieve Tahoe which is a charity that gets folks out on the snow. I have a friend who could use the 4 day, and it would not be a waste as this dude needs to get back on the snow as well.

But first choice is to get that second pass out to someone here.

When I read the thread title I assumed it was about people who literally don't know how to ski, but for some reason should be able to ski. Like, why shouldn't Taylor Swift be able to ski? She could have been Mikaela Shiffrin if it wasn't for the music career. Anyone know if Mikaela can sing?

Do the one base and give the four day to your friend. Who gives a flying fuck if he doesn’t have a trg presence. For all the work you do. Hook up an irl friend.

Not sure who needs the base pass. Honestly it’s as good as full pass unless you want assspen or jhole. Or crowded holidays.

Don't worry about me. Blank hooks my family up. As for my buddy, its questionable if he would actually use four days. If we were a bit closer to the snow it would be a no brainer, but getting him out even two weekends would be a big win. I'm holding out in case either there is a person who would use JH or if its someone who would receive a refund and they initially bought a Full.

Hell, if there was a whisper of a chance of me getting to JH this winter, I'd upgrade mine to Full - but that is just not in the cards these days.

Anyone have Swift's contact info to see if she is in need this year?

And I agree with Core Shots sentiment on the singer...
