TGAPP FUNEMPLOYMENT MEGA WINTER SALE (skis, fly fishing, camping, alpinism)

Hey folks! As a wise man once told me, funtickets don't grow on trees, and being funemployed now, I need funtickets more than I need all of this stuff. Actually I don't really need funtickets, I need foodtickets, but I suppose food is fun too. You get the idea. PayPal, Venmo, cash in an envelope, whatever. If my prices are off please call me out. I might be a dirtbag now but I'm not a dick, and I'd love to see this gear go to a good home.

    SKIS

    1. DPS Spoon 150's in 190cm - mounted with demo Tyrolia Attack 13's - $450. Some superficial scratches on the base, but super clean. Small chip on one ski's topsheet near the tail.
    2. OG Line Pescados 180cm with Quiver Killed Tectons @ 314mm (no other mounts) - $450. 8.8/10 condition.
    3. Black Diamond Cirque84's in 171 - drilled once and quiver killed for ATK Release 10's @297 - $150. Get your sufferfest on with these bad puppies.

    BINDINGS:

    1. CAST 2.0's with Pivot18's. The tech toes don't match (one gray the other forza), but they're both there along with everything else. Everything is in great shape, forza 2.0 pivots - SOLD ?
    2. Used CAST 1.0's with white Pivot18's. Older but still awesome. I think I need a half moon for one of the heels, but SFB said he could hook me up so I can get that taken care of before selling these. Worth the pivots alone? - $275?
    3. New Ski Trab Titan Vario 2.0's with the medium level heel (RV 7-9) - SOLD

    PACKS:

    1. Cilogear W/NWD 40L worksack. This is an absolute gem of an alpine climbing bag, widely considered to be the best ever made. Retailed at $1k but they were too expensive for them to continue making. I've got my initials on the bottom of the pack (sorry), and there are some scuffs/light wear, but the pack is absolutely bomber. $400
    2. Ortovox Ascent 30L Avabag with the carbon cylinder - ultralight airbag pack, and I think I have the 20L zip on bag that I can throw in with this, too. Amazing pack. $400

    CAMPING:

    1. Feathered Friends Spoonbill UL2 Two Person Alpine sleeping bag. The GOAT of backcountry, alpine sleep systems. Amazing bag that retails at over $1k: https://featheredfriends.com/product...n-sleeping-bag. In phenomenal condition with extremely little (if any) use. Asking $600.
    2. Nemo Tenso Regular Wide - new in box. REI has them for $150 on sale right now, how is $120? Best comfort backpacking pad ever.
    3. Katabatic Flex 30 Quilt 900FP. Lovely piece of kit. Used lightly. I can find the straps for it too. $225
    4. Hilleberg Jannu - an absolutely legendary tent, IMO, perfect in just about every way. Phenomenally strong, comfortable, and at a super reasonable weight. Comes w/footprint. $SOLD

    FLY FISHING

    1. TFO Blue Ribbon 8'6" 4wt with a Reddington Zero and an SA line. All in great shape. Asking $SOLD.
    2. Reddington Classic Trout 7'6" 3wt with a Risen Trout Armor reel/SA Line. Asking $100

    RANDOM CLIMBING

    1. MHW 8000m Expedition Down Suit - new with tags but got got by a box opener, so I fixed it with a little aquaseal and gearaid and it should be ready to go. Size XXL. Asking $400.
    2. Mad Rock Crash Pad. Barely used at all. Very clean. $100
    3. A5 Alpine Double Portaledge with fly. PU on fly is getting sticky/stinky, but otherwise everything is absolutely solid. Lowest I can see these for online is $500, how is $350?

    ----

I can upload pics of anything & everything, DM me if you're keen on any of this and we can figure out shipping or pickup.

    thanks mags

I'll take the Titan Vario 2.0s, and can probably get someone in SLC to pick them up.

    ALRIGHT LISTEN MAGS

first off thanks for the well wishes and such, this is shitty, but it's at least shitty and very funny and i really fucking appreciate all of your support, it means so much

    SECOND

i debated whether or not i should tell you this story because, well ahh, it's a little embarrassing AND because if i tell you this story there is NO WAY any of you will buy this 8000 meter downsuit, but i feel like y'all are deserving of the entire truth

    THIRD

jfc okay i'm gonna tell you this story but don't think i'm a weirdo with my other shit, i only have that 2p sleeping bag because i thought that i was gonna do alpamayo in 2021 but then there was covid 2 electric boogaloo and that fucked that right up

okay just don't judge me for this story please

THE STORY OF THE 8000 METER SUIT

alright so a few months ago i went to the backcountry.com gear sale, and i loaded up on all sorts of ridiculous things. most of it i passed on to friends, i kept some, i sold some on KSL. one of the items that i snagged was this XXL suit - it had clearly been the victim of an errant box-opener, and i figured that for $50 and a little bit of aquaseal, i could turn a decent profit. (*editors note* - i don't usually sell anything for a profit on TGR, and i didn't figure i would sell this, but i wanted to be able to copy and paste and list elsewhere as needed).

after getting home, i fixed 'em up good like i learned how to do in the aquaseal thread and listed them on mountainproject (fuck that place), along with a few other things. two days later i get an email from a guy, asking about the down suit. pretty standard stuff - he was worried about the fit of it, and he wanted to see me in it - whatever. i sent him this pic to help him assess measurements:

guy gets back to me "ohhhh yeah you're a really young buck, i think i got a few pounds on you and i'm older, i just want this for icefishing, i'm not sure on the size" blahblahblah. i tell him if he's just fishing in it i reckon it doesn't matter if it's too big, he's not doing any hillary stepping or self arresting or whatever. tell him to think about it, i just want it gone, happy to make a deal.

few days later "ahh thank you, do you do a lot of high altitude things, i can't imagine what it's like to be in one of those suits all the time, tell me, is this one used? does it have any stains or odors?" - and i still don't bat an eye. no-sir-ee-bob, this one is as new as the day it got shat out of a chinese factory's asshole. nothin' wrong with it, beautiful condition, just that unfortunate run-in with the wrong end of a boxcutter, listen, i'll sell it real cheap, just put it to good use

still no cause for concern for me, just want this midwesterner to take this goddamn monstrosity off of my hands. the next day: "ahhh that's too bad it's new, see, i was, uh, hoping that it had been a little used, and it had some of, your odor and sweat and funk in it, see that's what i'm really after, that young strapping smell, and i really wish that i had been a climber when i was younger, and i guess i'm, uh, a bit of a bi guy, and apologies if that is TMI anyway let me know if you would consider sleeping in it for a few nights and then selling it to me okay thanks bye"

    -------

anyway i still have the down suit and i also learned a valuable lesson of what it feels like for most women on the internet and even as kink positive as i am or whatever that was creepy and rapey asf and sometimes i still think about whether or not i should have sold that suit to that guy especially considering my present circumstances
