Thread: Advice On A Floor Jack?

Currently have the HF "Daytona". Orange flavor, in the super duty variety. I had a Snap-On on permanent loan that I had to give back, so they were side by side in my garage for a few days. The castings/frames are identical, the hardware is not. Works flawlessly though. Lifts F150s, 4Runners, and heavy-ass electric cars with ease.
Have owned other HF, Craftsman, and generic, and they all fail eventually.

yeah I got the same one ^^ I kept putting off buying a 3 ton floor jack waiting for the deal but they would slip away, so every time I needed to get it done at Kal cost me 68$ so just pay the list and start saving the 68$, I'm 1/3rd of the way thru paying for the jack in the 3 tire changes it takes
I have never seen the foot pedal before this but I agree its nice
I thot Princess Auto was a strange name for a store that is always full of large guys in work clothes with the plumbers crack but PA sell all kinds of stuff made of the Chinesium which works ok and you can always take it back if you change yer mind but PA is a dangerous place to browse
the store closest in PG also sells close-out stuff in the very back of the store, I got few pair of sole foot beds which worked out to 12$ each for a 50$+ footbedLast edited by XXX-er; 09-23-2023 at 12:51 PM.

HF has some weekend discount coupons for anything in the store if you are going to pull the trigger there for one of the Daytona's.

+1 on the aluminum body Costco Arcan jack. I think it goes on sale/price changes randomly. I ordered mine when it dropped to $179.
Nice jack and covered by Costco warranty/return policy.
The low weight is a plus for dragging around...I am sure that all steel one posted above is fine if your local store has it for that price but when they are only $20 apart, I'd vote for aluminum body.
Max lift height might be a bit low for some people though--it is a low profile jack so it is good for low vehicles, but max height is almost 5" less than that Daytona snap-on knockoff.

I bought the 2 ton ( or sft ) went to change tires on my truck AND not enough lift, took it back and got a 3 ton,
a floorjack is fucking useless if it doesn't have enough lift, sure I could wank around with pieces of 2x4 but I'm already doing that
which is why I need enough lift to change a truck tireLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

Local dude just died when his floor jack collapsed as he was under the car working. Didn't have jack stands.
