While Nashvegas is a fun city loaded with great food, music and women, it's not Charleston.

Chas is loaded with gorgeous women from CoC coeds to women in their 60s+. It really is staggering when you walk through town (or any of the surrounding areas: Mt. Pleasant, Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Is., John's & James' Islands, West Ashley...) and you notice so many good looking people. People are active and are outside a lot which helps. Shit, just google any list of cities with most attractive people and Chas always comes up.

The city and surrounding Lowcountry is beautiful, full stop. Beaches, marshes, architecture, history (its over a 100 years older than the country it's in), boating, fishing, golf/tennis, and truly amazing food (this can't be overstated; so much amazing food from Gullah to bbq to some of the best chefs/restaurants in the country). All this to say that its impossible to not find something to do on a date there.

I'm lucky in that I spent a large chunk of my life growing up and living in Lowcountry and still get to Chas several times throughout the year and its only gotten better. If you like sun and water and 100 year old live oaks draped in moss that shroud a beautiful city filled with smiling southern women looking to share a bite of some fresh seafood and a cold drink then you could do much worse than the Holy City.

As M2M points out. Go now, fall is the time for oyster roasts (great way to meet people) and the weather is amazing. Spring too. Winter is actually one of my favorite times to be in Lowcountry since all the tourists are gone and its still 60 and sunny.
I still call it The Jake.

How did I not know Charleston was on the ocean? That bumps it from a visit city to a potential live city. I may or may not have spent a little time looking at jobs there on LinkedIn today

The way I look at it is, I really like being near the beach/marsh/sunshine/temperate weather/Appalachians most of the year and the big metal flying bird can take me to the snow when the itch hits in most cases (for where I ski that is) in the same amount of time it takes someone to get to Summit County from Aurora. I realize this being the TRGs this may not be a popular opinion, but it works for me.

And regarding NC skiing (or WV or NY or MI or any other non-gnar locale), to paraphrase Charlie Runkle, "turns is turns".

^^^^This, Better terrain than the midwest/central + better beaches than CA/OR/WA. Downside is season is short (but more like 8-12 weeks, not 4-6) and we get rained on a lot.
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!
