Music gear, but always test it first. Not ridiculous good deals, some really unrealistically high tags. Talk to them. .. you can find a deal here and there..

Some of the pawn shops around here actually leave the door locked and buzz people in with caution.

Haven’t been in a pawn shop in at least a decade. Back when power tools were expensive it was a hard pas due to encouraging theft.. Guns I would imagine require a background check in Oregon, so that would be okay.

Side note, good friend of my dad’s made big money with a chain of pawn shops. Always freaked me out when we visited as there were guns hanging all around the office, loaded. For some reason they would have a ring of colored electric tape around the stock and/or cartridge.

I've bought and sold several guns at pawn shops. There used to be a pawn shop in Missoula called the Sports Exchange. Bought my first backpack, backpack stove, skis, ski pants, all kinds of shit there. But yeah it's been decades since I went in one with any intent to buy.

When I lived in Indy-no-place I used to frequent the downtown pawn shops looking for vintage guitars. I really wish I has bought some then that I really really cannot afford now.

Bought some skis and a few electronics, my main rule is, if it will be against my skin, I will pass.

Local consignment showroom has one right now for $200k.

Friend's dad would let him borrow a 38 and we'd shoot beer cans with blanks/wads in the field across the street from his house on the edge of town. Blanks are fine for target practice from 10 feet away. Give you the feel of shooting a gun, and the BANG! But, no worries about falling bullets across town should someone fuck up and shoot above the backstop.

My splitboard was stolen out of a car near the Barmuda Triangle and showed up in a pawn shop in Great Balls where someone on vacation bought it and posted it for sale on Facebook where I saw it and notified the seller. He contacted the pawn shop with my police report and they told him to suck eggs. The seller sent me the board for free, and I organized a GoFund Me to raise the money to reimburse him for his bad luck and generosity. It took 20 minutes to raise the $$$ and get him straight.

I bought a 64 Strat in a pawnshop in downtown Cleveland in 1969 for $125. I still have it. Including the trem arm and ashtray cover. And a 65 Tremolux for another 125. I still have that too--minus the ungrounded cord and the death cap, but it still has some of the tubes I bought it with.

I don't know about Wooley but you can definitely kill a mammoth with a strat, although I prefer teles for the big ones. Well made instruments. Do not try with Gibsons.
