    Seam seal tape failure

The seam tape on my bibs is gradually failing. They don't have more than approx 40 days of use, but can't be warranted, so I'm curious to hear if diy repair is possible.

Can you buy proper seam seal tape and reapply it successfully, or do I just cut my losses and buy some bombproof bibs?

    Advice very much appreciated.

It sounds like you need to fix your fucking gear with aqua seal.

Sometimes you can just iron the tape back down, with a regular iron, so if the tape sticks ... it sticks

We had a bunch of NRS drysuits with bad taping, some we fixed by ironing, some with AQS, we some with plasti-dip

Why I bet there is even a 7 page thread on the subject

Are you assuming it can't be warrantied or did the company tell you. I had a tent where Mountain Hardware had a run of seam tape failures. It was out of warranty but they replaced it anyway.

Aquaseal and a flux brush, you need less of it than you think.

I did some of the aqs on seam tape but if you got enough delaminated tape ( think a 1 piece suit with every seam lifted ) its unwieldy cuz AQS gets on everything and the seamtape lifts while its drying cuz the tape was all curled

which is when the other guy discovered ironing it back down to stick it and then I think we would sell all those suits off cheap @ 150$

ironing to at least stick it down and then AQS might be the trick but i never tried it

    Thanks for all the advice.

I think I'll do a a bit of experimention: buy some seam seal tape, get the aquaseal out, and the iron too. Try ironing it back on first, then new tape, and aquaseal if all else fails.
