Yer pics are so enticing.
The stoke they bring to many is great.
Specially this time of year when everybody's jonesin.
Hoping for next year, if it happens this I'll be a late comer sleeping in the gutter.
You can share my camper a bit round here and use my wife's Indy.
Yer hair is long enough...Time spent skiing cannot be deducted from one's life.

There’s currently a $620 flight from SLC to Zurich on Delta for basic economy. Still sub $800 for main cabin depending on dates. Not a bad deal at all, and I’m guessing it’s as cheap as it’ll be.

If like when I went then yes. We all went to St. Moritz, I dove one of the shuttle vans. St. Moritz is another amazing resort. We were guided by a buddy of Michele’s, Matteo Zilla, super cool guy who lead us to Gasthaus Spinas, if memory serves for an unreal lunch and epic ski journey.

2019 day trip to St. Moritz:
Corvatsch first with runs off the top into the Northwest (Italien) couloir, the apron where some people spent all day while others did the Roseg/Corviglia/Spinas tour.
Corvatsch is 3300m down to 1800m, about 5000 vertical feet.
The NW Couloir from below:
Corvatsch, St. Moritz sidecountry off the tram with a short traverse en route to Val Roseg
Lunch at Hotel Restaurant Roseg Gletscher before the hellish skate down to Pontresina:
After 10 minute bus from Pontresina to St. Moritz proper and the funicular up Corviglia (3050m to 1720m)
Dropping inro Val Bever sidecountry from Corviglia:
Smart people having beer at Haus Spinas waiting for the train while others walked out to Bever :
vendul has offered a day trip as part of the daily cost to St. Moritz or Laax/Flims or Davos/Klosters or Arosa/Lenzerheide or Toggenburg or Bivio or Pizol.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

Here's an overview of that day.
We started at Corvatsch Talstation Surlej, rode the trams to the top and skied to Rabgiusa twice. Some people stayed there and skied that area all day.
Then we traversed out into Val Roseg under the glacier icefalls, lunch, then skated down to Pontresina, where we got a bus to St. Moritz Dorf and the funicular.
Rode the funicular, then the Las Trais Fluors chair and sidestepped/traversed for 5 minutes and dropped into Val Bever, ending at Spinas.
Some people walked into Bever while we had beer and took the train from Spinas where it comes out of a tunnel. All met for pizza in St. Moritz and 2Funky drove us back to Rueras by moonlight.

I am a un regular TGR poster, but am an avid lurker, lived in Teton village '88/'89 in the old "chalet" long gone, worked at the gas station in the lot out by the bank and post office, made sandwiches, had an employee pass that got me onto first trams, also bussed tables somewhere in teton pines (?). can't remember, been a few years...
convinced a non-mag also former vill resident who worked at teton Village sports? I dont know the year before i was there...any way he's a ripping tele skier, and he and I are compatible for touring/skin adventures, he will be wrapping up a wife friendly swiss visit the week before and meeting to participate in this bobby baker brew haha with me.
Buster thanks for the continued sidecountry adventure stoke, exactly what I am going for...
also, as far as the states we are coming from you can check off CA and NY...

A proper thread will go up later today for Stoke Dreamers. But here is the fundraiser: https://www.gofundme.com/f/stoke-dreams-2024
The goal is to fund two mags at a level that makes going accessible to most. Donations of any amount are great. Sell some gear you're not using and send some of the profits to the stoke.
Additional details to follow.

Try to get on a train ZRH->Rueras before 19:00 or the last leg is done by bus from Disentis or we will pick you up.
Here's the Swiss train timetable, plug in Zurich Flughafen as start, Rueras as end.
https://www.sbb.ch/en/buying/pages/f...fahrplan.xhtml
After Disentis, be sure to request a stop in Rueras if on train.
Since it's 3.5 hours back to ZRH from Rueras, skiing the last day (9th) is doable. google for hotels, Ibis cheapest. use uber to get from/to airport, about $20.
Moar sidecountry stoke from Disentis, a 5 minute bootpack from the top t-bar.

Thanks Buster, Ill book my ZRH to Rueras round trip, per your details now - big help!
I know I saw a link to the Local Andermatt train and lifts for half off? is that still a thing? or does that get done closer to the dates?
Thanks for the local knowledge,

I'd wait on buying lift tickets until they post prices.
https://www.andermatt-sedrun-disenti...ergbahntickets
The half price card isn't such a good deal if they do variable pricing. In the past, they have made finding the best deal tricky.
Our buddy the free range lobster (alias subtle plague) may be able to shine a light on the best deal when prices are announced.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

Yeah Mag, we'd be stoked to have ya. Crunch 'em up. It's pretty unbeatable, costwise.
Nice, it sounds like doebedoe has that plan coming to fruition. He added me to his Middle Fork o' the Salmon trip with nary a flinch. I vote for Tgapp too.
Yeah, what he said.
I'll loan you my Ikon, they'll never know.
C'mon mag, get the lead out and come rip around Switzerland with us. You would be a stellar player.
I went to the airport the evening before my 645am departure and crashed on a bench. No big deal and quiet. Security paid me no never mind.
We can work on smoke over there. too much chance for a fucked trip trying to take some over.
Calling all fat rastas from Switzerland. We'll need a Quewpie doll pleez.
Metal shovels may or may not make it in carryon, checked baggage is prolly fine tho.
And all that gear is cheap to rent too.
I'm gonna be especially stoked to meet you guys as I've been a village rat since '90.
CA & NY, in the house.
Right fucking on.
I'm 90% sure it's still a thing. My email response from Andermatt ski co. says yes but not on sale yet. I thot the vail takeover would fuck that up, but so far it seems not.
That puts daily tix around $60 a day all inclusive for many miles/acres of skiing. And any train rides up and down the valley. Which is rad.
Booking the train to/fro Zurich early is def cheaper but in some instances you must catch that train I think. If your flight's late, that may be wasted. Not sure if a prepaid train ticket is usable at a different time, even on same day. Any one know fo sho?
And buying the ticket right at departure is still friggin cheap. 2 routes to Rueras: ZRH > Goeschenen > Andermatt > Rueras. Or ZRH > Chur > Disentis > Rueras.
Both take about 3 1/2 hours and the Andermatt route is stunning.
