    Trapski

Saw this last season but rejected it at $300 plus. Now factory rejects are $150 shipped for the Quad.
Holds 4 pairs in back of suv or truck. Feels solid and I can see no defects.

Looks like it's some sort of composite material (like Trex decking). Otherwise, I would think you could make that pretty easily with some scrap lumber for $37 and it would be way lighter.

Also, design looks faulty...those enforcers aren't sitting all the way in the slot because it's too narrow?

No doubt the design could be improved. Here’s a 106 above a 118. Top ski will hang above one contact point, either fore or aft.

    Trapski

Relentless social media advertising from these guys a year or so ago

^^^ does the top binding rest on the bottom ski??
And/or is the top ski sitting on the bottom ski at tips??

That seems like a terrible design if so…..

When I was a lad we just threw skis in the back. Or in a roof box.

    This thing is a trap!!

Yeah, honestly, this looks like it has the potential to cause more damage than just chucking them in the back or in the box.

I'd rather have a drawer or a box.

This just makes it harder to carry the same number of skis. The mechanism itself takes up 2/3 skis worth of space. I can maybe see it if you’re a racer and very particular about bindings, and not wanting those to knock about. But then it also seems that they still do to a degree.

Looks a lot like $150 (or more) for a headache and less capacity in your vehicle.

I dunno, it seems like an ok solution to keep your skis from getting knocked around the back of a truck bed. A rework of the dimensions could have the skis better spaced. It's not terrible, but it's no Rax ski or Heart Carver...

I just throw down moving blankets so the skis / bindings don't get torn up by the textured bed liner.

Saw the Trapski Ad and put together my own last Nov.. I changed some elements to make it more serviceable. The cross pieces are mortised to the very heavy 3/4" HDPE about .60. I altered the ski slot angle so that all the bindings clear and dropped handles in it. You can take it out of the car with all the skis on it... but it ain't dainty. I never did dab the stainless wit some black.

It's good if day tripping and I have swapped out skis up to 4 times at the hill and this makes easy. But, you wouldn't travel with it in that it's a cube hog

Nope... I live on the hill, so this is a pretty good way not to constantly shuttle skis. No garage, but I have 1000's of feet storage. So, I just pop the whole thing out when turns aren't in the forecast.

Shop bro told me the Santa Cruz rep was protecting bikes in the van with shipping blankets, so we used shipping blankets

I Built a "Gun Rack" using scrap wood.

Works, keeps skis off of packs, gives dog place to hang without worrying about edges.
