Ibis Mojo 4 fit for shorter riders

So there is a really good deal not too far from me (2hrs) from a well vouched for seller of a mint Ibis Mojo 4 in a medium frame. We have been looking for a decent used FS downcountry /light trail bike for the wife at 5' 41/2 , roughly 30 1/4 ish inseam so this caught a friend's eye and he let us know. The issue I have now is while the Ibis size chart has her in a medium at this height, the Geo numbers look crazy long with a 460mm reach, and Im still trying to figure out if the minimum dropper insertion depth would even work for her without going to a crazy short dropper.

Typically she measures to a small frame at these measurements, and I know Ibis tends to be slightly off the norm with fit, but doesn't 460 reach seem really long for someone almost 5'5? No similar bike locally to sit on to check fit.

Yeah, 460 reach for someone that height is really long. Looks like the effective top tube on that bike is 603, which is also gonna feel super stretched for her.

In that bike, I think she'd be happier on a small.

My thoughts exactly. Wanted to make it work since it's a near mint bike at a great price and Ibis's goofy chart puts it in the realm of possibility, but ultimately it's too big. I'm almost 6'1 and fit ok but on the longer side on a 500 reach Ripley AF. 460 on a Medium seemed really stretched

Weighing in on this question as I am 5'5" and rode an Ibis HD3 for years in a medium. I was JUST big enough for it, but the small would have been good too. Too big for her, I agree.

Appreciate the data point. It's def too big, not going to work. If anyone is looking , this is a almost brand new Mojo 4 Medium Deore build with Ibis carbon wheels for $2500 available a few hours north of Philly. Gorgeous bike
