Yeah that was as dirty as it gets. He’s now got a lacerated liver and is out at least a month.

I’ve been a fan/believer, up until now. I appreciate the attention he’s given black athletes and we need more coaches like him. But go damn, his son flashing his 1 million dollar richard Mille watch to other players on the field has no business in college sports. If a nfl player did that after a game there’s be consequences. Seeing that makes me question what Deon is really teaching him. One bad hit and his career could be over.

Or College... Bunch of 18-25 year old kids that have been told they are awesome from third grade all acting cocky and doing stupid shit... Mix in growing up as a kid of a HOF football player can inflate an ego pretty severely. I'll take a brash, cocky asshole that can produce. Give a kid a few years to mature after life kicks him around a bit. That could be in the next ten weeks.

It will be interesting to see how the kids flashing that bling do on their first college mid terms. I can vouch for the fact that two starting Oklahoma Sooners put in real college work on a couple group protects my son was involved with. So, no, not all of them are cheating..

Deion was hired in December. The football team's spring GPA was the highest ever for a Colorado football team. Hopefully that trend continues for the fall semester.

Didn't 50+ of them hit the portal over the summer? Wonder how good the grades are of the 50+ that transferred in?

They would have entered the portal in the spring. IDK if they stayed enrolled at CU, or if their GPA still counted as CU football players once they entered the portal.

Word but I thought our D Line looked pretty damned good. Those edges were putting the hurt on Shough.

The litmus test will be fall grades, when they're actually playing traveling etc.. You ain't got time to shop for bling if you're doing the course work AND football work.

That CSU safety is a Boulder kid. That's gonna be interesting to overcome in his hometown moving forward.

Those kids won’t be allowed to fail.

Someone show me where an nfl player after a game, when in between your Dad/coach, and the Colorado state coach, is waving around a Richard Mille worth 300 to a million plus.

    It’s fucking college ball.

If I’m an outside LB for oregon, I’m sticking that watch up his ass.

Let’s recap. CU wins a nail biter over big in-state rival CSU. CSU’s D line looks like the fucking Philadelphia Eagles against CU. So, there’s two distinct possibilities 1) CSU’s defense is much better than anyone previously thought 2) CU’s O line is in for a long season. My bet is on door number 2.

All the respect in the world for Neon Deion and what he’s accomplished. Every honeymoon ends. My guess is he’s got 5 days.

They'll be 5 and 2 in four weeks so pretty big improvement in one season. Just being competitive is worth a lot. Bunch of old uptight white guys getting too wrapped up over kids being flashy and stupid.

Or 3) Starting a true freshman at center (due to injury) had a big impact. I don't think the OL is good, but with regular starters I think they're better than what we saw against CSU. CU has a top QB, some really good skill guys, and zero depth. Gonna be tough if the injuries stack up, but I think the interest in the program stays high even if they lose 1 or both of their next 2 games.

Did you read Deion's response to the death threats against the CSU safety? THAT is how you rebuke crappy behavior from your own side (politicians should take note). Brash, arrogant, loud? Yes. But classless? Hell no.

"Henry Blackburn is a good player who played a phenomenal game," Sanders said Tuesday. "He made a tremendous hit on Travis on the sideline. You could call it dirty, you could call it, 'He was just playing the game of football.' But whatever it was, it does not constitute that he should be receiving death threats. That this is still a young man trying to make it in life -- a guy that's trying to live his dream and hopefully graduate with honors or degree, committed to excellence and go to the NFL. He does not deserve a death threat over a game. [The death threats are] very unfortunate. I'm saddened if there's any of our fans that's on the other side of those threats -- I would hope and pray not. But that kid was just playing the best of his ability and he made a mistake. I forgive him. CU, our team forgives him. Travis, he's forgiven him. Let's move on. But that kid does not deserve that."

It’s hard not to be impressed by what he’s done, even if you find him annoying. Great response to the death threat bs. I do wonder what the hype train will look like if they take a few bad beatings. But it’s totally within Oregon’s capability to choke this weekend and feed the flames even more.

The father-son dynamic ive seen the last 2 games gets me in the feels, hard. The interview after the TCU game where he says "thats my son", and Shadeur says "thats my pops". The hug after the Shilo pick 6 in the CSU game. Its so goddamn wholesome how obvious his proud dad moments are.

I was living in the Dallas area in the 90s so all in on Deion. A good guy, smart football chops to go with the skills.. which is rare. Usually the person with off the charts natural ability sucks at coaching. It's the Coach K type who had to bust their ass doing twice as many drills as everyone else just to make the team that usually make the best coaches.

What Deion might not have is the college and NCAA rules savvy. Butch Davis could come in and turn things around pretty quick too, but it turned out they were cheating their asses off to do it. That's why he and John Blake pretty much got kicked out of college level coaching after a few years.

Wholesome NFL triple A ball. It's a microcosm of the macro BS that is semi-pro NCAA football.

I'm just hoping that CU and UofO beat the crap out of each other on Saturday.
