CSU just got absolutely hosed on the personal foul call in the 2nd OT.

Seems like officiating gets worse every year. Crew chiefs all have resting bitch or flaccid dick face.

Idk, you blow 8 point lead by 2 stupid penalties and then still make some more and it's bad officiating ? Bad clock management at the end and terrible discipline all game long to give away a game.

Just wait till coach prime loses a few more toes in Autzen next weekend. They’ll be storming up I-70 to forget their troubles.

In fairness, that third win triples the total from last year so it’s kinda understandable.

Man around 2005 Duke football went 1-10 then 0-11 in 2006. One night in 2007 around midnight we heard this loud ROAR from a few blocks away. When we woke up turns out it was the Duke students carrying the goal posts down Cameron Blvd. Fucking hilarious! They beat Northwestern winning their first game in like 3 years. They lost every other game that season though. They were cool for the scout troops thought. We went to a game every year. for like $5 per ticket They let the kids go down on the field before the game.

I'm actually happy for them being improved these days. The school ad athletic programs do lots of good things for the community.

PAC 12 is gonna be a gauntlet this year. Ironic that in is last that I’m existence it’s looking to be the deepest conference. And just a reminder that the championship still goes through SLC.

Coworker who went to Oregon State is telling me that the U of Ore team and fans are being "dicks" and that they'll get what's coming to them. I don't really know where he's coming from, honestly. But, your point about the history of Duke football got me thinking, since the UNC and Duke football rivalry mirrors the U of Ore and Oregon State rivalry, how similar is Duke football to Oregon State from an overall winning percentage standpoint. Surprisingly, Duke has had quite a bit more success, especially in the 60s, and overall has a 47% winning percentage compared to Oregon State's 45%. Now, the Ducks had a bunch of dog shit years, like most of their history, so again, not sure where this Beav fan is coming from, but U of Oregon's overall winning percentage is 56%, obviously bolstered by the somewhat sustained success of the late 90s onward. UNC has an overall winning percentage of 54%. Maybe 7% more success is all it takes to develop a very jilted regional rival?

Officiating is part of the game. If you decisively beat a team it won’t matter. I was just live blogging that call. It was a classic “you hit him too hard” type call which is just tough for those of us that grew up with hard nose football. Dude turned right into a down field block and wasn’t expecting to get hurt. QB had tucked the ball, so no problem down field. Not head to head. The defensive player just got pancaked, by his own unawareness. Hard to see it effect the outcome of the game. Why are officials all over 60? Every game I watched yesterday the head official was ancient. Seems it should be a young man’s job.

Couple years ago when OU beat jOKe State on their pasture the OU Pep Band stayed in the stands and played Boomer Sooner on repeat for over an hour after the game until all of the poor Cowboy fans had escaped their own stadium. Fucking best rivalry troll EVER!

Have seen how officials are treated by fan, players and coaches at lower levels ? It takes years of high school officiating to get to lower level college. Low pay, weird hours and abuse at the high school level to one day get an OK part time gig calling D3 college games isn't a huge selling point so the pool is getting smaller by the day. Even a lot of NFL referees have day gigs.

Agreed. Rams had discipline and focus problems all game long. They should have got their shit together at halftime. I get it, rivalry game, and 20 years of getting your butt kicked in Boulder and all, but hopefully the Rams take that loss and use it as motivation for the remainder of the season.

Younger bro is a CSU grad and it was definitely a painful loss for them.

Oregon attracts a certain kind of fan and a certain kind of player. Multiple incidents over the years. The reputation is deserved.

Shit you could say the same about college football in general.. Privileged adolescent/young adults and their parents used to abusing other people without consequences. I'll own my own share of that shit too.. I was horrible, especially at some away games we won BIG.

I started following Prime/Sanders when he came into the pro level. I’ve loved him ever since. For you guys who hate him. I hope you’ve watched all these recent interviews and press conferences with him, because I would have loved to have had a coach or boss like this guy any time in my career. I’m a 63 year old very white guy.

Christ. Seriously? Washington tends to attract people with chronic anal aches. Welcome to NCAA football. If you're not pushing the envelope, you're pushing a losing record.

I was really impressed by the Rams and felt like the Buffs might be a bit overrated. Their OL looked bad and they weren't getting to the Ram's QB. Shadeur is legit and they have some serious talent but like Dion says, they need a few more dogs on that team.

I don't know if Oregon will beat them or not but I think Shadeur is going to face pressure like they haven't seen yet. Just ask Tyler Shough.

I look at massive turnarounds like those at USC, Colorado, and Oklahoma and first thing that comes to mind is NCAA violations. I know NIL now cuts through a lot of that bullshit, but just the amount of player turnover at those places screams sketchy incentives going on. I'd expect at least one of those programs to get busted in the next year or two.. It will likely be academic cheating..

It's less about UNC being good in football (we are pretty much always mediocre), and more about Duke post-Spurrier just not caring 1 cent about football (outside of a couple seasons). In the 90s/00s we won 22 of 23 games versus Duke...27-6 in my lifetime.

I have great memories as a kid of going over to Wallace Wade and there were considerably more Carolina fans than Duke fans at the game. We'd bring a huge group from my dads work because tickets were essentially free and you could sit wherever. A couple times there was a line of students outside Cameron waiting to get into some meaningless preseason basketball game while the football game was happening.

With all the hype it would surprising if they weren't at least a little overrated. There is a ton of legit talent amongst all the transfers, and nothing against the SWAC, but the level of competition week in and week out that they will face at CU is certainly higher than at Jackson State. I think this weekend is going to be their first real test.

Really unfortunate to likely miss Travis (maybe on D more than O) vs OR and then USC. Such a bullshit late hit.
But yes, CU gonna be seriously tested next two weeks - and most of east of season given pac 12 strength.
I’m guessing last years transfer success (and this years likely recruiting wins) gonna be more focused on the bigs.

Hopefully a good game. The Ducks looked like dogshit against Tex Tech. I kept thinking "how are they ahead?" I don't know if they could play much worse.

One thing that Oregon Duck and Oregon State fans have in common, is that neither of them went to U of O

I think the Ducks will come out swinging after laying an egg against Texas tech and all the hype CU is getting. 20.5 point spread seems about right, especially with CU missing their best receiver and CSU exposing some weaknesses. I think Prime is doing a great job of making them relevant and playing at a much higher level but go 2-2 next four games.

    2023 College Football Thread

Really sucks to not see CU with Hunter going into Oregon. Fuck that CSU kid who laid the dirty hit. Fuck em. How is he not suspended?
