He is awful. Being the nba, I would not be surprised if the refs try to tilt the game to the mavs to continue the series

I would be so happy to see Kyrie swept. Ecstatic. Can't stand that guy. Pretty good player. Don't like the man. Supposedly he said something about seeing the Boston fans back in Boston on Monday.

Kyrie is probably the most overrated player in NBA history. His handles are superb and he can make such beautiful plays (and go on crazy hot streaks) that it blinds people to the reality of his overall game. The NBA is not street ball.

Luka is a white guy that can defend (of course, he's 7'2" and pretty agile for his size)
Jrue Holliday is amazing. The guy never makes a mistake. He won't win the MVP but he is the guy in my mind.
Luka flops on almost every shot but his flops are comically bad. Like he doesn't want to hurt himself so he lies down rather than falls down. He complains that he gets fouled on every shot even when he doesn't and then complains when he gets called for fouls that he commits.

C's close it out tonight. Don't think the Mavs have the heart to try to be the first to come back from 0-3.

ETA: Larry Bird would shoot only lefty in this game 4 and still drop 40 on them.
I don’t even know how to respond to this. If Luka is 7’2” then I have a 14” dick. And everyone knows he sucks at defense. What in the hell are you talking about?

I agree, but the people it's blinding are NBA players. They're among the people overrating him.

"The most" is a bold statement. However, I agree that's he's highly overrated. He still a really good basketball player.

You’re not wrong. It includes guys like KD and that speaks volumes. (About KD)

And yeah, not saying Kyrie sucks, just not nearly as good as some have deluded themselves into believing. He’s definitely an A+ when it comes to aesthetics.

That's the thing, he has the prettiest handle and most creative shot making, and they all drool over it.

This got me thinking - which other players are the most overrated? Trae Young comes to mind because he’s so bad on defense and doesn’t even try. I think that’s a common denominator.

Overrated players tend to be remembered correctly as time passes (Stackhouse, Carmelo, Cousins...). To be the most overrated you need to be current.

Let's go Mavs! Just need 3.5 more halves like this first half!

The Fever vs. the Mystics was the highest-attended WNBA game since 2007, with 20,333. Both teams had a combined record of 3-20 coming into the matchup, and they still shattered records. There are few forces in women’s sports that are drawing eyeballs quite like Caitlin Clark
Flipping channels stumbled onto the Chicago-Indiana game on CBS. Only thirty seconds into watching Caitlin Clark drives into the paint and gets hammered with a forearm to the head Draymond-style! (Her shot was also blocked by another player.)

Reminded me of young Jordan and The Bad Boys. Age-old tradition. The races and genders may change, but the mob loves a little (or a lot) of the old ultra-violence in their sports!

P.S. My girlfriend, who only follows sports osmotically, has nonetheless become well aware of the Caitlin Clark situation, caught the replay of the (ultimately ruled) flagrant foul and offered up this suggestion...

    She should wear a helmet!

P.P.S. My $.02 - Clark should do a Timex commercial...

She takes a licking, and keeps on ticking!
The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there.

^^^yup,,,,,i honestly think it's as simple as hate solely related to her not being black or a lesbian. what the hell did C.C. actually do/say to justify this league-wide hate? it's insane.

Honestly? Explain Cameron Brink not receiving similar treatment despite massive exposure and New Balance (and other) endorsements. She’s white, straight, and pretty.

Seems a lot of it is simple jealousy that Clark is seen as THE “savior” at a time when the WNBA has figured out a few things at a time when women’s college hoops has gained a greater audience (as has women’s soccer) and the WNBA is generally rising with Clark as part of its plan along with players like Brink and Angel Reese (playing the “heel” role).

I just watched the Reese foul on Clark, jesus christ. Reese defends it as "I was just going for the ball" which is totally fine, I'll buy that (though not entirely sure she would have made the same play on someone else), but that isn't the standard for a flagrant foul. She acts like Clark is getting special treatment by that being called a flagrant but that foul would get a flagrant upgrade every damn time in the NBA.

I do think there is a racial component to what is happening re Clark, I think her being anointed as some savior is viewed by many as being anointed the white savior. And there probably is some truth to that, would she get all the hype and popularity if she was a black girl out of the projects and not a white girl from Iowa? I don't think so.

And there are also many people who don't want a savior and don't like someone being viewed that way, even if she is bringing lots of attention and money to the WNBA and women's sports. They resent that and want to make damn sure she knows that nothing will be handed to her, that they have earned everything they have and she will too.

So some of this is understandable and expected. Still, you would think that some understand the big picture, how a rising tide lifts all boats. It feels like too many don't, but that's partly because that is how the media is spinning it all.
