Both 1966, and obviously the Mynah Birds spent a lot of time hanging out in bars in Saginaw MI

IMHO, Rust Never Sleeps is the best entry point into the world and music of NY.
I believe I was deep into my “rap rules-and-everything-else-sucks” phase in college (circa 1987) when I heard that album and it recalibrated my mind; it’s got just about everything Youngian you could ask for, ranging from feedback glory to mellow goodness. And the way it’s bookended is sublime.

So does my wife. She likes to play along. Neil is her favorite. She quit smoking by playing the harmonica in the car, as driving was a trigger. It was amusing. And loud.
